Rumor: SEGA not attending GamesCom

GamesCom is a big media event held in Cologne, Germany and it seems that our favorite company will not attend the event. This is according to our German friends over at SEGAStuff, who say they received confirmation from a SEGA employee.

The event will take place during August 18th – 22nd and if its true that SEGA will not be there, it will be a bit disappointing.

What about Games Convention 2010 in Leipzig? I heard its next week

  2. Orta says:

    Gamescom, you mean?

@Pao – The Leipzig event is about online games only now. Gamescom was created in Cologne because Leipzig was getting too small.

If they skip out on a few tradeshows to put money and resources towards the games, then I fully support this call.

They'll be at GC for sure. HOTD OverKill was revealed exclusively at GC.

Gamescom in Cologne was the biggest videogame expo last year, there was more poeple even than at the TGS. Very disappointing not to see SEGA there. I hope to see at least Sonic 4 and some XBLA from SEGA at the Microsoft booth…

That's because all the money goes to mr. Satomi so they have no financial resource to be at that event.

  7. Aki-at says:

Fernandeath, not to go offtopic, but Satomi is SEGA Sammy's largest shareholder and the founder of Sammy. There is a reason why he is paid so well and that's thanks to the dividends he recieves from the company.

As for SEGA missing this event, it would be extremely odd and foolish if they did do so, Europe is there biggest region after all.
