SEGA and Platinum Games plan more titles

It seems the partnership of SEGA and Platinum Games is not ending any time soon. The developer was quickly signed up by SEGA on an exclusive four game deal, three of which has received much critical acclaim although out of the three, only Bayonetta was suggested to have met its sale target, with the final game Vanquish launching later this year. The title has been building hype up slowly, mainly down to its impressive demo released some time ago. Speaking during the Tokyo Game Show the studio’s producer and executive director Atsushi Inaba said;

“[The] relationship between SEGA and Platinum Games does not end with Vanquish.”

A simple quote, but one that will most likely go down well with the general SEGA userbase. Speculation will surely be rife now, especially with the director of Bayonetta, Hideki Kamiya, has been hinting at a possible sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed title of 2010. What ever the case, fans can look forward to this partnership continuing for some time still.

    I hope its a lengthy partnership.

    In a recent interview with EDGE, Inaba mentioned the partnership with SEGA and how they gave them their creative freedom:

    “Sega give us huge creative freedom, and we are really fortunate about that. Our strength is in what we can deliver if we’re given this creative freedom – we can make games that others can’t. This is our advantage.” So what if sales mean Sega tries to exert greater control over future titles? “If we can’t be guaranteed that freedom, then the partnership won’t be able to continue. So we currently have a great partner in Sega, because they understand this need.”

    Hideki Kamiya also tweeted:

    Yeah, I think that's good. RT @McMullersAMM @PG_kamiya Will you be continuing any games with Sega after Vanquish?

    I think SEGA is a good partner. RT @Turtwig @PG_kamiya does SEGA give you more creative freedom than Capcom?

    More sex games.

  3. I am loving this. Probably wouldn't hurt to throw them some classic franchises to reinvigorate while they're still in bed together.

    @Segaismysavior: Keep your stupid ideas away from Platinum Games!!! I don't want them near any of my treasured Sega AM Ips.

    I haven't played Mad World but Bayonetta is disgusting and I prefer Hibana!

    As for Vanquish it is far to Cliche to have an immersive story line and coming from the creator of Resident Evil, that is a disappointment.

    Why can't Noriyoshi Oba, Makota Uchida and other true Sega Superstars get the oppurtunity to develop projects at the scale of Bayonetta and Vanquish?

    ^ You are judging whole games based on characters personalties and story, yet you ignore the brilliant gameplay.
