Super Monkey Ball 3DS press release and screenshots

Here are a few new facts we know about the upcoming Super Monkey Ball 3DS (not final title). It is confirmed that the game is being developed by SEGA Studio Japan. The new game will have ‘brand new compelling gameplay choices’, sounds sexy. Nagoshi (or his super busy team at least) is even working on the title it seems.

Here is the negative, it says you will have a choice between the 3DS’ motion sensor or slide pad (The slide pad means the new analog pad).

There is also a few seconds of footage, in a new Nintendo  trailer.

  1. CrazyTails says:

on a small screen(in the trailer) the game almost looked better than the wii games, bananablitz and step and roll.

Looking at these larger, stretched screens, it looks like the wii still looks better.

  2. CrazyTails says:

Ow yeah forgot to mention, slide pad is the analog stick.

  3. George says:

Ah, it is? What an odd name. Ill change the article.

  4. Sharky says:

So all I give a shit about honestly is this.

1)For the first time since Monkey Ball Delux I want mini games that are actually FUN to play and fleashed out. I LOVED Monkey Taget, Monkey Race and Monkey Fight on Monkey Ball Delux they had lots of levels, modes and options and were really fun. On Banana Blitz they just SUCKED, horrible tech demos.

PLEASE make the mini games as good as they were in Delux! Quality over Quantity plz!

    2) Nice level design + challenging gameplay in single player

  5. Sega Uranus says:

Unless Nintendo's slide pad sucks or something, I see no issue with giving that as an option. The controls in Super Monkey Ball Jr prove that the dpad controls can work fine in Monkey Ball, but I do not think it is a big issue if you can use the slide pad.

Anyways, really looking forward to this. I do not really like the looks of the level design from the screenshots, but as long as there are a good bunch of them I do not think I would mind all that much.
