The Super Monkey Ball 3DS website has now open and with it is a few bits of information about the upcoming 3DS game. As most of you know, this is most likely going to end up being a 3DS launch title and will be launching this spring.
Confirmed modes:
- Monkey Ball: What you come to expect from the games, single player mode that has you rolling and collecting bananas.
- Monkey Race: Car racing where you can use power ups to screw up the other player. Up to 4 players can join in on the race.
- Monkey Fight: You fight other monkeys, seems to look very much like Super Smash Bros. Object is to take their bananas. Up to 4 players can play! Screen below.
As for playable characters, the site has 8 character slots, but only half of them are shown. Those shown are AiAi, MeeMee, Baby and Gongon.

Hmm, the three mini games that made Monkey Ball Delux so worth my time were Monkey Race, Monkey Fight and Monkey Target.
Monkey Race looks as though it might have been improved upon and could be quite fun.
Monkey Fight I'm not sure about… I would rather the simply yet very addictive gameplay of the Monkey Fight on SMB:Delux.
With my favourite of the lot, Target MIA… Well, I'll really have to think about this one. But at least they took some good advice and trimmed off all the fat, aka shitty mini 'tech demo' mini games that were more about showing off some of the shit you can do with 'this new control method' then having a fun mini game. With Monkey Ball it's quality over quantity and I see they are going this route here. Awesome.
Awwww, that monkey racing screen is sooooo cuuuuuute. ^___^
