SEGA To Release Dreamcast Collection At Retail, Publish One More Game From Platinum

The news from that Game Informer interview has been pouring in today. We posted the interview scan on the site days ago, but didn’t mention much about the actual news!

Earlier in the week, Alan Pritchard spilled loads of beans about SEGA’s future. Perhaps most surprisingly, he let slip that they where making a Dreamcast Collection, something we revealed was listed on GameStop’s website. It was only listed for the Xbox 360. Given it’s cheap price, it’s likely that this may just be a retail release of the XBLA Dreamcast titles. For more info on the listing, check the link.

Pritchard also revealed that another Platinum Games title was being produced in collaboration with SEGA. So we now know that the deal will expand to at least one more game.

Well we'll see I guess. I won't get it because I probably have whatever games they are for Dreamcast already anyway. What I love though is on other message boards people asking for all the games they would want on the disc when the majority of them never played them on the Dreamcast in the first place. It could be argued that they helped the Dreamcast die. Posers. (Yes a rant/vent, sorry).

People expecting Bayonetta 2… While that is highly probable, I think its a New IP, that "Big Multiplayer Project" they've been working on.

And Kamiya never really said he is working on it right now, he only said he intends to, the rest is just speculation and misunderstanding from the fans.

Also, I won't buy the DC collection if it didn't have Shenmue, JSR, or Skies.

Well Im pretty sure that in past interviews they have said there are at least 2 new games from platinum games.

So I expect this big multiplayer one AND Bayonetta 2.

(unless they are one and the same)

The one thing Platinum Games are missing from their line up, though… Is a spiritual sequal to Okami.

Thank god the Marvel era is coming to an end. I thought it was going to be a good business partnership, but the games have been mismanaged. Plus the source material is pretty bad… you can't polish a turd, as they say.
