Yakuza 4: US gets no special edition, DLC with regular version

In Europe, if you want that DLC, you will have to opt into buying the limited edition of the game. In America, we don’t have the choice of a limited edition, so if you buy a new version of Yakuza 4, you will get a one-time DLC code to use. You will get:

  • Bonus costumes for Kazuma, Akiyama, Taiga, Tanimura, and Haruka
  • Survival Mode
  • Underground car park racing
  • The much-loved underground Fighting Arena

If you pre-order the game via Gamestop you’ll receive a free dynamic Hostess theme. Not bad at all.

It sucks that I cannot get the special extra stuff (well I guess I could import if I really REALLY was desperate), but this works out fine too I guess.

Also, it should be noted that these codes expire eventually. The one that came with Yakuza 3 expires April 1st of this year, so I expect this to expire around the same time next year.

  2. US never gets the fun stuff. 🙁 In a perfect world, I'd have a Bayonetta gun, a Vanquish figurine and loads and loads of mini art books.

I'm just glad they're bundling all the DLC together. I pre-ordered Yakuza 3 from EB Games to get the exclusive DLC (I hate EB/Gamestop), and it didn't even come with it.

If it's included in every North American copy, there's no way to lose out.

I think I'll get the special edition just for the box. Hellooo sexy.

SEGA Europe can go fuck themselves, I don't know why you are upset – the idea that I have to buy a special version of the game to take advantage of a download from the internet just seems like a shitty marketing gimmick to me.
