SEGA comes 9th in Metacritic 2010 Game Publisher Rankings

SEGA came in 9th place for the 2010 publisher rankings over at Metacritic. They take the publishers’ MetaScore for their 2011 line up and place them in order. SEGA averaged 67.4%, with their best rated title being Bayonetta (90%) and their worst being Iron Man 2 (41%).

SEGA delivered some really great software. Some of our favorite titles included After Burner Climax, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Sonic Colors and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. So for SEGA fans, it was a pretty good year. Next time SEGA should trim the crap, leave the good stuff.

It'll be the same again this year with the shitty Marvel games bringing down the overall score.

Thankfully they're going to scrap that shit.

  2. Sharky says:

Also, I continue to believe that Sega of America would benefit a shit ton by merging with Take Two Interactive.

  3. Grant360 says:

Is that on the cards Sharky?

  4. George says:

Not doing Marvel games? IT was in a interview with the brand manager of SEGA America, he said they didn't perform as expected.

Merger with Take2 is Sharky's wishful thinking.

  5. Funny how yesterday at GameStop, I saw the latest NBA 2k game out of the corner of my eye and thought I saw a SEGA logo on the box. Of course it was just my mind messing with me.

Awesome news for SEGA though! Next time let's shoot for #1 baby! Or at least, get in the top 5. Step one: Cancel Thor and Cap'n America.

  6. Sharky says:

@Grant. It isn't on the cards but it bloody well should be. Take Two make some brilliant games while Sega of America the lame duck of the company.

  7. Grant360 says:

@BTN – NBA 2K11 has a special place in my heart as it is made by Visual Concepts, a company formerly owned by sega who created the 2K series

  8. Visual Concepts needs to make more of the cartoonish games, like Ooga Booga and Floigan Bros. I'm sure SEGA owns those IPs now, but something new in the same vein would be awesome.
