Today we are pleased to let you in on new exclusive PlayStation 3 content for Virtua Tennis 4™. Playable from the moment you load up the game, PS3 tennis fans will be able to get their hands on tennis legends Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg and Pat Rafter. There will also be two exclusive mini-games: Pin Crusher and Net Blitz. Playable with control pad, Pin Crusher lets you scatter bowling pins using your serve, and for the PlayStation Move lovers, Net Blitz challenges people to rack up high scores by returning balls into increasingly small nets.

Additionally, a new mini-game is under development for PlayStation Home Central Plaza and is timed to launch with the start of the French Open. If your score is high enough you will be able to check it out from May 22.

Virtua Tennis 4 is slated for release on May 10, 2011. For more information about the game, please visit www.sega.com/virtuatennis4

  1. "Playable from the moment you load up the game" leads me to think they'll be DLC in the 360 version.

Three updates for the same game in a row??

I planned on getting the PlayStation 3 version of this, if not just to balance my amount of games on both platforms (not Wii!), but I do not really see this as much of a selling point.

However, I wanted to do a review of this as well, and with all of the support for PlayStation Move I was wondering if I should pick that up too… But it is really awfully priced and the range of games is honestly worse than Kinect right now.

@ Barry: Not really. Sony's president has this thing about having exclusive content on disc. They did a big interview about it saying its dumb to have 'exclusive DLC' (see: Microsoft's GTA4, Fallout DLC), when not all consumers will get it.

He said having it on disc was better and Sony is trying to make deals with partners.

I mean, it could still come out. But I have noticed when Sony says exclusive it stays that way (see Joker for Batman or whatever RDR had). We shall see. I was going to get the PS3 version anyway.
