New Footage for 3DS SEGA Games

Posted by Nux on Sep 13th, 2011

Nintendo had a press conference in Japan tonight, and while there was nothing new revealed on the SEGA front, there were some new videos and screenshots of several upcoming 3DS games.

We got a Sonic Generations video which showed what I believe to be the most footage we’ve seen from Mushroom Hill so far. It also contains the first screenshot of the Metal Sonic race. We also got new footage and screens for Rhythm Thief and the new Hatsune Miku game Project Mirai.

Wasn’t really sure what Rhythm Thief was gonna be like until I saw that gameplay vid. I thought it would be half-rhythm game, half puzzle solving, ala Professor Layton. Turns out the whole game is rhythm based. You platform and fight but you do it by timed button presses or touch screen actions instead of actually controlling the character. Not sure if that’s my cup of tea but I’ll keep an eye on it.

The Green Hill Zone in Sonic Generations looks amazing when that huge totum pole falls. Can’t imagine what that looks like in 3D.

Sonic Generations 3DS actually looks great in this vid, especially the detail on Mushroom Hill Zone, wow.
