New Sonic Generations demo on its way

Good news for fans who are eager to get their hands on Sonic Generations; there will be another demo, one that will allow you to play as both Classic and Modern Sonic on Green Hill Zone. According to a somewhat confusingly-worded post on the Sega Blog, the demo will be coming to Xbox Live and the PSN on October 19th (Europe) and to Xbox Live on October 19th and the PSN on October 28th in North America.

Sonic Generations will be released November 4th on both the PS3 and 360.

[Thanks to Sega Neptune]

Update: Looks like Sega has just posted a clarifying comment after the blog post, though to be honest it’s left me a bit more confused:

Just to clarify –

Europe: PSN and XBLA demo will be available on Oct 18th

North America: XBLA Demo will be available on Oct 18th, PSN on Oct 25th.

So I guess the demo will be available on either the 18th, the 19th, or the 25th depending on your platform of choice, which continent you live on, and whether you’re going by the dates in the Blog Post or the clarifying comment. It’ll be soon regardless.

Update 2: The 18th.

    Yaaaay! ^__^

What time does new stuff get posted to XBL, does anyone know?

  2. Trippled says:

Ya know, it feels wierd getting a Demo for a Sonic game, with everybody looking forward to it, rather than with a “is it good or not?” sceptisism.

Happy B-day to me! Though I’ll be in Baltimore all day…

XBL postings are pretty random, but 9am P.S.T. is the best guess. Some occasions I’ve found new content just after 10am E.S.T, so who knows.

  4. Body PRESS says:

    Happy Birthday, segaismysavior! =D

If you were here, I’d bake you a special cake. <3

  5. Shigs says:

Sega goofed and corrected themselves. It is the 19th after all.

  6. Upsidedown Fuji says:

Its up now on XBL US. Just look under Games & Demos.

  7. Body PRESS says:

It says you have to buy a Gold membership to download the demo. =P

I guess they felt that there weren’t enough good reasons to hate Microsoft yet.

  8. DCGX says:

Most demos get released on Xbox Live as a “Gold Exclusive.” A week or so later it gets opened up to Silver members.

  9. Shigs says:

Playstation Plus has never held back a demo. All they’ve is let you access free betas.

  10. DCGX says:

Playstation Plus has “One Hour Demos” that regular PSN accounts can’t access (like Infamous for example), which are only available for like two weeks or something.

But we digress. Thoughts on the demo? The Modern Sonic side was a blast. There isn’t anything I’m not liking about this game so far. Less than two weeks away!
