SEGA has no plans on releasing another Sonic 4 episode title

According to DigitalSpy, SEGA has told them that they are not planning to release any more episodes to the Sonic 4 franchise. Seems that it might end with Sonic 4: Episode 2. Who said a bold statement like that? Who else besides the one and only Takashi Iizuka.

“We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2, but we are currently not planning to release another episode. We just want to see how the users accept this episode.” –  Takashi Iizuka, Producer.

Is it good that SEGA is ending the Sonic 4 episodes or do you want a 3rd episode added with Knuckles?

Well… I want an episode 3 cause a Sonic game should have atleast 12 Stages.

    SE1 was based on S1 + S2
    SE2 Appears to be based on S2 + SCD + S3
SE3 would be based on S3 (environmental shileds) and evolve the original 2D series with perhaps new shields and new tricks.

Though Episode 2 looks promising, to wrap up the game there will ensure that Sonic 4’s legacy will basically be that of an underwhelming game that fell far short of its name. Kind of too bad.

    Hopefully this isn’t true.

An episode 3 with Knuckles would be awesome.

like i said elsewhere online, i think this is all just PR speak for “if episode 2 sells well, we’ll start work on 3”. besides, theyre still working on 2, and episode 3 might be little more than some notes on a whiteboard. im sure we’ll see a third, SEGA likes money.

no i want an episode 3, sigh, oh well maybe this will prompt an original downloadable title or who knows sonic rush 1-3 hd

SEGA likes money like every company but because of that I don’t think we will see a 3rd episode! Cause gamers *ahem* these days that will support such a game are not that many. I mean why everyone is wondering why we don’t see the type of old-school games we used to love.. Because they won’t get the support needed.
