UPDATED Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed gets a release date and a new trailer

UPDATE: A US trailer has been released, revealing a US release date of November 20th, 2012. Also, we have package art for the 360, PS3, 3DS and Vita after the break.

With Comic Con comes many announcements, and not just ones pertaining to comic books. SEGA has officially announced a release date for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Trasformed, at least for the UK: November 16th, 2012. I’d guess that this means the US release date will either fall on November 13th or November 20th. Ah yes, and that lovely trailer. No real new reveals, though it does show off a bit more of the CG intro and features Sonic and friends plus Joe Musashi, Gilius Thunderhead, Vyse and other already revealed SEGA all-stars. I do like how the Panzer Dragoon track is the setting for the intro. Enjoy the trailers and mark your calendars!

Only Sonic, Eggman and Aiai on the cover?! 🙁

    • Agreed. Really needed a few more characters. I can’t see them adding more, so this is probably it. Given how many consoles its releasing to, they could have had the Aiai spot change. So like: Joe for PS3, NiGHTS for Wii U, Vyse for 360, Aiai for Vita, etc.

I recall the Simpsons game had different covers for each platform. It was a cool idea.

Why couldn’t they let sega japan make a better music theme over the trailers, or even richard jacques, instead of this second rate dub step track. Sega is worth so much more than that.. anyway I can let it slide since its just for the trailer for youtube.. 😛 Richard jacques has never let sega fans down in the music department!!

Really cant wait to pick this up for my vita, a ps3 version on the go is going to be AMAZING on my trains rides to work and back yay!!

    • SEGA Japan has nothing to do with the game’s development. In fact, the first All-Stars racing isn’t even released in Japan. Same probably will go for the sequel. But I agree, trailer needs RJ music. At least the final game will have the real music in place.

Yeah I know sumo is developing the title for sega, but their track records show that they work very closely with SOJ headquarters, who monitor the games aesthetic and development to stay true to Sega’s arcade roots. Outrun 2006 coast to coast, sega super stars tennis and all stars racing are all good examples of close relationship sega have with sumo and why they are trusted with sega’s ips. So its not that unlikely that we could have sega japan artists collaborate with mr jacques on the soundtrack for this game.. But yeah I think the dub step has started to outstay its welcome on trailers. They can compose better tracks with their own artists!!!

They also worked with AM3 on Virtua Tennis.
      Am2 on OutRun

      Obviously Sonic Team for Superstars.

The only person they probably haven’t worked with is Nagoshi which is probably a good thing cause he would just make them add dating simulators and perverted expansion packs.

Shame Sumo wasn’t a bit more creative with the vehicles in effort to stay true to the source material.
For instance AiAi should have a transparent ball, we know he can fly and race with said sphere a’ la monkey target/racing. I’m sure it would also be seaworthy, the hollow ball shall float.

The whole time I was watching that, I only had one thought, “C’mon Vyse, you took down an entire armada and you can’t destroy one little hedgehog?”
