SEGA re-trademarks Skies of Arcadia

No idea if this will mean that the game is coming to digital services, but seeing how we are getting NiGHTS into Dreams and Jet Set Radio, I wouldn’t be shocked if this is announced soon.

It could also mean that SEGA hates us and loves to tease us.

It also means they don’t want to lose the trademark. In any case I don’t think it’s a matter of “if”, it’s a matter of “when”. When did those “sitting on the ports” rumours surface? About a year ago now?

Could also mean more Skies of Arcadia cameos or even a sequel. But given SEGA’s recent track record, HD remake seems likely. Fingers crossed!

I’m guessing they want to keep the trademark name than actually meaning something (though with digital stuff on the rise and it’s consistent cameo-ing in other games does give this more weight than others). It’s keep in mind that Shenmue.com is still up yet it’s not like it means there’s a new Shenmue coming.

Let’s not forget they did the same thing with the Dreamcast, they completely re-registered the patents and a vast majority of it’s add ons, and what did end up being? not a lot, unless it was that Dreamcast bundle they released on the 360/PS3, where they included 4 Dreamcast games, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2, that were going to come out individually in digital format any way.
