Direct-feed footage of Sonic Lost World reveals some awesome music!

The past few days of E3 have given us a lot of Sonic Lost World footage, but a bulk of that was either filmed from the show floor or featured the manly voice of “Men of E3” winner SEGA brand manager Aaron Webber. Now, thanks to Gamespot and TSSMB member Woun comes direct-feed footage of Sonic Lost World in action on the Wii U, free of show floor chatter and commentary. Check out the video above and the video after the break to soak in all the sounds and music we’ll be hearing this holiday season. Should more footage appear, we’ll be sure to add it to this post.

Want to learn more about how the game plays? Check out our hands-on preview.

Everytime i see this level, it looks totally different

  2. Sega Uranus says:

Windy Hill Zone is fine if not a bit bland in terms of art and music, but the candy level is just horrible, everything about it sucks.

The wisps seem out of place though, as if they were added in the last second… Really did not want to see them again.

  3. Dr. SEGA Monkey says:

Candy level reminds me too much of non-Sonic platformers. Just seems out of place.

  4. Ben says:

I’m not a huge fan aesthetically of the candy level either….doesn’t make any sense. Why would another planet in tha galaxy have human inventions like Oreos, etc…? lol. I don’t want to overthink it but it kinda annoyed me in Colors too.

    • Nux says:

Why would there be a blue rubbery looking anthropomorphic hedgehog capable of breaking the sound barrier?

Because Sonic games aren’t supposed to be grounded in reality XD.

    • Welsh Lion says:

You must be an *S** type then. Which is why you lack iNtuition.

  5. Ben says:

Right, exactly. So why do we have “real” objects like oreos, donuts, etc. in a game meant to take place in a fantasy world with no connection to ours? =p

    • InTheSky says:

There’s a difference between referencing objects that exist in our world and the fantastical nature of the world construction. =P

If you realize that the donuts and Oreos thing “shouldn’t” have happened, then the complaint should go as far back as Sonic eating chili dogs. The games do reference reality.

Oh Bull. If Mario had a level like this, people wouldn’t say shit. It’s whimsical and makes me hungry for Twizzlers.

    • Sega Uranus says:

Sonic is not supposed to be whimsical though. This kind of direction is literally the kind of stuff the original Sonic Team would have fired people over for suggesting.

Just because the candy level sucks and no one really wants it in does not mean they want ‘realistic’ settings. They just want good art. Even the music in the level is awful.

    • Nux says:

Mario did have a level like this last year. And yeah, people didn’t say shit. XD

I still say that having a world made up of giant sweets is no less whimsical and no less grounded then a blue, rubbery anthropomorphic talking hedgehog that breaks the sound barrier.

    • Welsh Lion says:

Taking it a bit too seriously. You can ask that if every game them, it’s like arguing why all video games are not based on as much realism as possible.

  6. Betablocker says:

Of all the wisps, laser was the worst one.

It just skips the level, what is the point?

  7. Ben says:

“Oh Bull. If Mario had a level like this, people wouldn’t say shit. It’s whimsical and makes me hungry for Twizzlers.”

I would, lol. I’d be like, “what the hell are human sweets doing in mushroom kingdom?”

It’s also incredibly unoriginal, just from a creative standpoint.

  8. Plant says:

About as repetitive as the level itself.

Don’t even get me started on the candy level, holy fuck.

  9. Ben says:

    “Unoriginal?

As opposed to a beach level(emerald coast)? Or a San Francisco Level(city escape)?

Just say you don’t like it and be done with it.”

I’m trying to explain why I don’t like it, haha.

The difference there is that those are creative spins of existing real world areas. Sonic Adventure and Sa2 took place in the real world…or some variation on it. City Escape was based on San Francisco but the level itself was quite original.

I just don’t see why a planet in outer space would have a part of it made up of sweets from Earth, and creatively, like I said, it’s not entirely original; even in this series, it’s been done.

When had Sonic run through a real world beach before Emereald Coast?
