Crazy Taxi is out now on Android – Make that craaaaazy money!

CrazyAndroidTaxi
I know that SEGA doesn’t really promote these mobile releases, all they pretty much do is send a tweet or a blog post telling you that the title is out. But they really missed the mark with the Crazy Taxi port for Android, since they didn’t even tell anyone it was coming today. Well, don’t worry, we got you. Crazy Taxi is now on Android.

This port is a lot like the iOS version with Arcade Mode and Original Mode playable and music by Bad Religion and The Offspring. You can purchase your copy today for $4.99.

why SEGA continues milking this instead of their other franchise such as Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTS, VF3, VF4, ETC?

    Panzer Dragoon on Android/iOS
    NiGHTS on 3DS/Vita

These are what we care, I’ve played Crazy Taxi million times on Dreamcast, PS2, Dreamcast Collection, ETC, not gonna get it again, there are many like me.

It’s a fun game, but I’ve played & have had my moments with it for now.

SEGA is releasing Crazy Taxi to Android because the mobile version of the game is all but developed. It’s an easy port, and likely one that has been planned ever since Crazy Taxi released to iOS.

Panzer Dragoon has yet to even be given an HD port, you can’t compare a “from the ground up” project like Panzer Dragoon HD to Crazy Taxi. NiGHTS, while already having an HD release, has yet to be optimized for mobile devices and frankly I have to wonder if it would even control well. Previous Virtua Fighters would be fun on mobile platforms, but wouldn’t it be even better to see a mobile version of VF5? Get all the latest improvements to the series in a mobile game?

Anyway, I wouldn’t call allowing people who own Android devices the ability to play an iOS title “milking” the Crazy Taxi franchise. They’re just porting a popular mobile release to another platform so more people can play it.

It plays like a dream on my Nexus 10. Now, if Sega can get Blit to go back and fix Jet Set Radio so it doesn’t play like I’m skating a fathom deep in the ocean, all will be well. Yes, I know JSR has been out a while and they never patched it for the tablet it played like crap on.
