Petition to bring SEGA’s Japanese titles to PC!

SEGATweet

Following the response from SEGA in the above picture, GAF member TaroYamada (With the help of GAF member Grief.exe) has just started a petition to bring over SEGA’s Japanese output onto PC. The three initial titles suggested, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Vanquish and Bayonetta, should be stressed are only part of a grander scheme. The true purpose of the petition is to adjust SEGA Japan’s perception of PC as a platform so that future Japanese made SEGA titles may also get a shot of appearing on PC. The mission statement of the petitions follows as such;

It’s targeting games that are a perceived lower risk, please note that even if you disagree with the initial suggestions a massive part of this effort is about adjusting SEGA’s perceptions of what the PC market is open to concerning their content.

Within the next 24-48 hours I’ll have this up on SEGANerds, SEGABits and SEGAShiro. That’s a grassroots thing and it’s pretty much where my connections begin and end with the press. If you run your own sites and you support this petition, or if you know press who might be interested in this petition give it a forward, spread the word if you don’t mind.

Outside of that, please tweet, revive the #SEGAPCPorts hashtag and get this out to your followers.

A few things; intended launch was at 10 AM GMT, came in a bit late. Signature goal isn’t final and a discussion will take place behind closed doors with the involved individuals (such as grief, who initiated the twitter campaign) as to what the final goal should be.

Thanks everybody for your help and your patience, I hope we can work together to make this happen.

The petition can be found here. If you happen to be a GAF member you can show your support in this thread or discuss it further in our very own forums.

      I’d love to see that! Hopefully with After Burner Climax and many more SEGA arcade titles, really hope SEGA listens because I think each of those three games can be a success if given the spotlight to shine! 🙂

    You have my full support!

    There are games like After Burner Climax or Daytona USA HD which have been released digitally on other consoles but inexplicably not on PC.

    Also, we’re still waiting for Jet Set Radio Future and Panzer Dragoon Orta! What’s holding you, Sega?

    My current game platform is Steam, and will smoothly go over to SteamOS/Steam Machine later this year. As a Dreamcast fan, I would like to see more Dreamcast games porting to Steam/SteamOS. And I have more or less giving the hope to play PSO 2 anytime soon.

    I want a REAL Virtua Fighter on Steam more than anything. The Sega Genesis port of Virtua Fighter 2 is just an insult to fans. Plus lately alot of fighting games have been making their way to Steam, and there is currently no 3D fighters available on PC.
