The Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary SXSW Panel took place on Saturday and was live streamed on Twitch.TV. Now you can watch the panel at your own leisure on YouTube. The panel had Yuji Naka (ex-head of Sonic Team), Takashi Iizuka (head of Sonic Team), Roger Craig Smith (voice of Sonic) and Mike Pollock (voice of Eggman).
Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary SXSW Panel is a little under 40 minutes long and goes through the history of the franchise. The biggest announcement was the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary party that we posted about.
So what are your thoughts on the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary SXSW Panel?Ad:

I don’t know why they left out Lost Worlds but still acknowledged Shadow.
Was it that bad?
I only played it for like 15 minutes so I can’t give a verdict, but it seemed like something I could have mastered and enjoyed.
Ended up watching the whole thing. It was nice…
I find it odd that they brought up Sonic Boom and completely ignore Sonic The Hedgehog (2006). Weird huh?
They didn’t ignore it. They just didn’t put it on the slider.
They brought it up non verbally.
Overall, I thought the panel was really good. I came in knowing to expect no new game announcement because Aaron Webber said exactly that… it’s a shame though that so many people were riding on the hope that he was lying. It was really nice to see Iizuka and Naka again, and I loved that so many things were brought up like Alex Kidd, Sonic Rivals, Team Chaotix… and everyone’s faces when the audience screamed at the idea of a new game with a Chao Garden in it, hahahaha 🙂
Also, Lost World seems to be a mixed bag. I personally enjoyed it despite the slower gameplay style, but others probably crave that boost gameplay or dreamcast style gameplay more. Plus, the scripting in that game is A+, dialogue-wise haha XD
