SEGA is publishing a special compilation for PC, with profits being donated to the UK based War Child charity. The compilation consists of various games from different developers including 343 Industries, Creative Assembly, Team17, Stealth Inc., and more. The purpose of the compilation is to not only donate profits to charity, but to also draw attention to the developers that make these games, effectively killing two birds with one stone.
War Child is a charity organization founded in the UK in 1993 by British filmmakers Bill Leeson and David Wilson. The purpose of the War Child foundation is to provide assistance to children experiencing the effects of war, both during and after war. To help with this goal the charity group would collaborate with varies companies and groups to release material like film, concerts, records, and video game content with the intent of profits being donated for a good cause. This wouldn’t be the first time SEGA was involved with the organization, as copies of Football Manager games are already donating profits to the War Child organization.
The War Child game compilation is designed similarly to the War Child Help albums. The albums were a compilation of different songs from different artists with a particular theme, as a collaboration between the music industy and the charity. The compilation is currently slated for a release on PC in July, however there is consideration to bring the compilation onto Android supported devices and retail due to a partnership with Amazon. All profits will be donated to the War Child charity.
