SEGA has announced Project JUDGE (Judge Eyes in Japan) as the new game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios! Labeled a courtroom thriller, the game is set for a 2019 release on the PS4. The game will see a worldwide release, as SEGA of America shared a trailer simultaneously with the Japanese reveal. Project JUDGE will feature the voice acting talents of Japanese actor/artist Takuya Kimura as the game’s main protagonist, Takayuki Yagami.

This is very interesting to me. I wanted a detective-style game set in Kamurocho with Tanimura, but this new character is looking to be pretty fun to play as.
This looks super interesting — I’m a big fan of hyper-realistic look of this studio’s games. The dramatic angle and Japan-centric nature of this and Yakuza titles also really helps to establish it as something unique.
Ace Attorney came to mind the second I saw that title
Looks like a mix of LA Noire, a stealth game and Yakuza
my feeling are up and down about this, i’m looking forward to playing this game, and am sure I’m going to like it. but calling this a new IPs is saddling for me, this is pretty much a yakuza spin-off game, and it also feel like Yakuza Studios pulled a Sonic Team, saying that this game will be very different, but this is just a Yakuza game with a new gameplay gimmick added to it, just like with Sonic Forces saying it a different experience because of the avatar gameplay gimmick, I love Sega, but i think they need to learn that just adding a new gameplay gimmick to a already exist gameplay style , doesn’t know make the game different.
