Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno wants to make a new Power Stone on Nintendo Switch

If you were a SEGA Dreamcast fanatic back when the console launched, you probably got to try Capcom’s Power Stone which became one of the consoles best party fighting games. Since both Power Stone games came out on the Dreamcast, the franchise has been mostly dead save for a port on the PSP of the first two games with some extras. But now the Guardian spoke with Capcom game designer Hideki Itsuno about the creation of the game (its turning 20 years old next month!).

Here he talks about the idea of making a Power Stone 3:

“I still get messages from fans about the game. People tweet requests to me to make another Power Stone, which I’d love to do if I got the chance. It would be a particularly great fit for the Nintendo Switch.”

I implore you to check out the great write up by Keith Stuart over on the Guardian, a great nostalgic read and has some nice insight into the development of the game. While we are add it, can we get another Project Justice/Rival Schools as well?

Tbh, getting tired of hearing about Switch and it’s supporters with comments that have become so annoyingly cliche like “this would be perfect on Switch” or “this would be good for on switch”, and it’s association with SJWs.

Nintendo has built up a video game culture that a game can only be good if it’s on a Nintendo platform. It’s loud, mindless fanboys.

Not every game on a Nintendo platform is actually a Nintendo game, plus if Nintendo is that strict with independent third party companies who own their platform licence, isn’t Nintendo the one they should be complaining to about whether other companies decide to put their software on the Switch or not?

Also, there’s been plenty of terrible games over all Nintendo platforms despite their view of quality over quantity emphasis, in-fact it’s a Nintendo platform that still holds the record for the most infamous terrible game ever, for years, and it still is one of the worst games ever released – Superman 64 for the Nintendo 64.

AVGN (Angry Video Game Nerd) has built up a career on YouTube and Social media based on bad games, and he’s a Nintendo nerd, many of the games he’s covered have been on Nintendo platforms and are among some of the worst ever made.
