NeoGeo Battle Coliseum and Samurai Shodown VI ported to Dreamcast as Atomiswave arcade ports keep coming

We are continuing our updates on SNK Atomiswave ports coming to the SEGA Dreamcast. The user Megavolt85 is the SEGA fan behind these ports where he started with Metal Slug 6, then released King of Fighters XI. Now we got not one, but two new games: NeoGeo Battle Coliseum and Samurai Shodown VI!

These ports just keep coming faster and faster. Don’t be shocked that next time you blink, we will have the whole Atomiswave library released. Not that its a bad thing, of course.

Really want to try these but they’re currently GDI only (rather than CDI) meaning I can’t burn them to play on my Dreamcast. I don’t have one of the optical drive replacements that allow their use on original hardware unfortunately.

MegaVolt85 said he will release the CDI version of the finalized versions. I think the GDI are for people to beta test it before approving everything. I remember Metal Slug 6 at first didn’t have a pause and the mapping of the buttons wasn’t ideal.

Great stuff, thanks for the info.

He needs to approach SNK for official releases. Columbus Circle did it with the devs behind the Genesis/Mega Drive port of the arcade version of Darius and got an official license from Taito.

He has a page on Facebook called ‘Dream Quest’ with an orange squared spiral design for an avatar picture, I recommend following to keep up to date on more, he just set it up a few days ago.

How does one acquire this with no knowledge of burning and just has a Dreamcast the old fashioned legitimate way?
