Sonic Revolution Announced for 2021 Online Event

Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary keeps getting better with the announcement of Sonic Revolution, the 7th year that the event has been concurrently going and is the 2nd one to be online. The event has been a Los Angeles-located Sonic convention but due to the Covid-19 virus, the event will be hosted online through the Sonic Revolution Discord servers. Front runners Shanye (@sonicremix) and Licide (@Angelidia) are back to bring the biggest Sonic fan convention in the world on June 19th and 20th, 2021.

Guests that will be making an appearance are: Alan Denton (writer on the Sonic Boom TV series), Greg Hahn (story editor on the Sonic Boom TV series), Bill Freiberger (writer on multiple shows i.e: Sonic Boom, The Simpsons, Archer, etc.), Reggie Graham (comic book artist on IDW Sonic series and more) and Gigi Dutriex (comic book artist on IDW Sonic series more). The event will run similar to the online event that took place last year, which will have various Discord chatrooms for events, panels, artist merch store, hangouts, and more. Last year, I did see about 100 people in online for most of the duration of the event. Although I do not have a final count, it seems that there was plenty of fun and activity to be had last year and was a rousing success!

More details will come when the event gets closer to the date so if you would like to stay tuned, you can follow the Sonic Revolution page on Twitter or Facebook for updates.

Nice. I wonder what announcements will be made this year? With Sonic’s 30th anniversary coinciding with the event, I expect there will be some big news for fans. Though I’m not sure if we’ll get any upcoming game announcements here, I certainly hope we do. Also, perhaps an in-depth dive into what we can expect from Sonic Prime? Maybe the new voice-talent lineup?
