SEGA in the Media: The Late Show introduces us to Sexy Knuckles the Echidna

Last night’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert featured a segment on Idris Elba’s upcoming role as Knuckles in the second Sonic movie. Colbert talked about how Elba spoke about how he doesn’t think his take on Knuckles will be sexy, given Elba himself has previously been named “Sexiest Man Alive”, which led to Colbert making his own Sexy Knuckles trailer. The results are… well, watch the above.

He would be suitable for Knuckles as Knuckles was originally meant to be Jamaican in a sense, hence his shoes use the Jamaican national colours, or at least in the native nationalist sense. The term ‘Native’ is a cognate of the word ‘Nation’, both of which etymologically relate to their derivative form ‘Nationality’.

Which brings up the other elephant in the room, he should not play James Bond (even he said this himself once), although Idris Elba is British born, James Bond is not black, he is a Scottish spy of the British secret service – MI6 (see ‘On Her Majesties Secret Service’ (1969) and ‘Skyfall’ (2012). That’s how he was made by Ian Fleming and the legendary Scottish actor Sean Connery was the key basis.

They already did this woke treatment to Felix Leiter (who’s like the Yank equivalent to the Scots James Bond), compare Felix in Dr. No (1963) and Thunderball (1965) to Felix Leiter in Never Say Never Again (1983) and Casino Royale (2006).

Can black people not be born in Scotland? Are there not black people in MI6 in 2021? Should Dune not have been made into a movie because the book was there first?

      Barfy take, Jacindar.
