Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist physical soundtrack available at Limited Run Games

If you’re a fan of the music from the Genesis/Mega-Drive classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (1992), then you’re gonna want this. The complete soundtrack will be up for pre-order from Limited Run Games starting tomorrow, with options for cassette tapes, CDs, and a single LP vinyl record available for the prices in the above graphic in USD. The vinyl is also available in an optional Green Ooze Edition, with a green record, limited to only 1,000 copies, so act fast if you want that in particular. The pre-order period runs throughout the entirety of March 2024.

This comes as part of Limited Run Games’s series of soundtracks for all the 8-bit and 16-bit TMNT games, of which they opened pre-orders for a new one every month starting last year. The only one remaining after this, which is expected to up for pre-order sometime in April 2024, will be for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters, and will include the music for the Genesis, NES, and SNES versions of that game, so be ready for that.

Space Channel 5 Getting 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits Album Featuring Over 50 Tracks

While it doesn’t seem to get a lot of hype online, it seems that SEGA is bringing back Space Channel 5 with the release of Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash and now with a 20th Anniversary album release featuring over 50 tracks from the series’ greatest tunes across two CDs. The release promises remixes, drama tracks and six new tracks from the upcoming VR title.

You can see the album cover above, which shows off Ulala sporting her new Space Channel 5 VR yellow outfit, which seems to be her new ’20th Anniversary’ color? The 2 CD disc will feature a booklet with commentary from composer Naofumi Hataya and narrative designer Takumi Yoshinaga. You can get the import via iam8bit for $39.99, if you are interested.

Brave Wave announces “Resurrection: Panzer Dragoon Saga 20th Anniversary Arrangement” on CD & Vinyl

DQ2sRCwUEAAHVyMThe music publisher Brave Wave Productions, who is known for its line of video game soundtracks has announced “Resurrection: Panzer Dragoon Saga 20th Anniversary Arrangement” coming to digital, CD and vinyl. The project will contain 20 tracks from the SEGA Saturn classic, Panzer Dragoon Saga, rearranged by the original composer Saori Kobayashi.

We are in a weird spot where there are two music publishers doing SEGA soundtracks. If you guys didn’t know the first Panzer Dragoon soundtrack was published by Data Discs, while this 20th Anniversary Arrangement soundtrack will be done by Brave Wave. It makes sense since Panzer Dragoon Saga‘s original composer, Saori Kobayashi is actually officially signed to Brave Wave. As far as to what 20 tracks made the cut for this release, we don’t know yet. We do know is that we will be getting more information (most likely pre-orders) on January 29, 2018, according to Brave Wave. We will keep you posted as more information comes out. Personally can’t wait for them to do some crazy 300 limited edition run of the soundtrack so I can miss out on getting it and hate myself for it. Yes, I’m talking about the Sonic Adventure soundtrack they published.

Sonic CD is out, it’s cheap and it’s really, really good!

SEGA have done something fantastic today, something you don’t see big publishers doing very often. They have chosen to reach out to the community and nabbed themselves Christian Whitehead aka ‘Taxman’ and his quite marvelous ‘Retro Engine’. It’s my understanding that Whitehead has been developing his ‘Retro Engine’ for quite some time now and gained a name for himself in the Sonic Community, and I can see why. His re-master release of Sonic CD for XBLA, PSN, iOS, Android, Windows Phone and of course PC is really, really good!

Unlike Backbone’s rather poor and often botched efforts at updating SEGA classics, Christian Whitehead’s ‘Retro Engine’ has given us Sonic CD locked at 60fps on every platform, both Euro/Japan and US sound tracks, new features, playable Tails, a choice of filters and modes, achievements and more… It really boasts the lot!

Hit the jump to find out why I think SEGA should snap up Whitehead and his engine!

Sonic CD Played on Tablet

Yet more Sonic news today, here is some game play of the re-release of Sonic CD on Tablet devices, XBLA and PSN. It will feature improved physics, real HD and Tails as a playable character.

If you can find your way to a GameStop, you can test the game on tablets now.
