Complete Shenmue III Soundtrack Releasing to CD, Vinyl and Digital

Shenmue III, which released almost a year ago, will see a complete soundtrack release from Ys Net, Brave Wave Productions and Limited Run Games. Weighing in at 195 music compositions, which consists of both old and new tracks, the soundtrack will see release on CD, vinyl and digital. If you want options, you better believe they have them!

The CD edition consists of 6 discs, and includes a special box and liner notes for $49.99. The digital edition will be available on all major streaming services for $30. The vinyl edition comes in three flavors: a 2-LP Music Selection release with 33 of the game’s most iconic tracks (which would fit well along side the Data-Discs releases of Shenmue and Shenmue II) for $39.99, a 5-LP Volume 1 which features the Bailu Village music for $124.99, a 6-LP Volume 2 which features the Niaowu music for $149.99, and finally an 11-LP Definitive Soundtrack Complete Collection release in a massive box for $299.99. There will also be a limited run of 500 Complete Collection LP box sets featuring a poster autographed by Yu Suzuki for $349.99.

All physical releases will be available for pre-order starting November 20 from Limited Run Games and BigWax (for European customers). After the break, check out the complete breakdown of all the editions. Which one/s do you plan on picking up?

Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! gets a Limited Run Games release on July 31

Limited Run Games has announced today that Grounding Inc.’s Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! will be receiving a release on July 31st. The game is a followup to the Dreamcast originals, but utilizing PlayStation VR hardware. No word yet on price, method of release (open pre-order or limited number) or if a special edition box is planned. But my fingers are crossed for a classic release containing a Dreamcast-style case. More news as we hear it!

It has also been confirmed by @LimitedRunJosh that the Hatsune Miku DLC will not be included in the physical release due to licensing reasons.

Limited Run Games adds Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack CD to existing orders

There has been a bit of a kerfuffle going on with the physical release of Streets of Rage 4. We haven’t been covering it, but with a recent update from Limited Run Games I thought it was worth writing about. In March, Limited Run Games announced physical editions of Streets of Rage 4 for North America (with international shipping) in standard, classic and limited collector’s editions. Shortly after the pre-order window closed, Merge Games announced they too would have a North American physical release of the game, at a lower price with its own exclusive bonus items and releasing earlier than the Limited Run Games releases.

Streets of Rage 4 releasing on April 30th for all platforms, Battle Mode revealed

Publisher Dotemu has finally revealed when Streets of Rage 4 will release. You can take to the streets and beat up thugs this upcoming April 30th, and it will launch for all four platforms. In addition, Battle Mode has been announced. In Battle Mode, you pick from a selection of different characters and beat the tar out of your opponents, with up to 4 players being able to participate in the brawl.

Also advertised is pre-orders for the physical copies of the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, by Limited Run Games. These physical copies come with a steelbook, a reversible cover, and a custom clamshell case mimicking the design of a SEGA Genesis case.

Panzer Dragoon Limited Run Games pre-orders go live tomorrow, ‘Classic Edition’ includes SEGA Saturn tall case

The brand new, Panzer Dragoon remake will get a physical version thanks to Limited Run Games which will have two versions, one being a regular version for $39.99 and the ‘Classic Edition’ which comes with a SEGA Saturn replica case for $59.99. While its cool to get these physical editions, its a bit sad that the ‘Classic Edition’ isn’t coming with more goodies outside of a replica case. Maybe Limited Run Games has spoiled me in the past but no artwork? Poster? Art Book?

According to Limited Run Games, both the regular and Classic Edition will be open pre-orders until April 24th, meaning you don’t have to prey that you can get a copy and gives you time to free up cash to order.

Streets of Rage 4 physical edition pre-orders live, soundtrack composer revealed

Streets of Rage 4 physical editions for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch are now up for pre-order at Limited Run Games. Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games have also revealed the main composer for the game. Olivier Derivière, who worked on soundtracks for A Plague Tale: Innocence, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Dying Light 2 and more. The soundtrack will also feature several guest musicians, with new contributions from Scattle (Hotline Miami 1 & 2), Das Mörtal (Hotline Miami 2), XL Middleton, and Groundislava. These join the already announced guest artist Yuzo Koshiro, however a bit of bad news as Hideki Naganuma has been announced to no longer be able to contribute to the soundtrack due to scheduling issues.

Still, the game looks and sounds great and we can’t wait to get our hands on a physical copy!

Limited Run Games announces Streets of Rage 4 Standard, Classic and Limited Editions

Limited Run Games have officially announced on their Twitter account that the upcoming Streets of Rage 4 will have multiple physical editions coming our way! Starting this Friday, March 20th, at 10am ET fans will be able to pre-order Standard or Classic Editions of the game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Important to note: this is an EXTENDED PRE-ORDER WINDOW. The window is open from this coming Friday through to a week after the digital release. This means that fans will not be fighting over a limited run of stock, instead the run will be limited to what is being ordered. The Standard Edition will feature reversible cover art that gives the game a SEGA Genesis look. The Classic Edition will include the standard case, with reversible cover art, a SteelBook case (sized to PS4 or Switch, depending on your platform) as well as a custom clam shell Genesis case that fits your SteelBook and standard game case.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake getting physical release, probably by Limited Run Games

So earlier today the Panzer Dragoon Remake twitter account announced that there will be a Panzer Dragoon: Remake physical release, all the tweet says is that they will be updating their social media soon on more details. This didn’t stop Limited Run Games from quote tweeting the tweet with those eyes emoji, possibly teasing that they have a deal with Forever Entertainment?

Some fans dislike the idea of Limited Run Games being the sole publisher for the physical version of Panzer Dragoon: Remake because they only print these games for a limited amount of time, if you miss it, you miss it. I personally hope we get a Limited Run Games version, but like other franchises like Wonder Boy: The Dragon Trap and Shenmue III, we also get another ‘not limited’ version by another publisher. That way everyone wins!

What is your thoughts? You buying a physical version of Panzer Dragoon: Remake?

Shenmmue III getting Collector’s Edition from Limited Run Games

First with the news that the PC version is going exclusive to Epic Game Store, now we have another collectors edition announced, which was part of early Kickstarter pledges. But now we have another, actually very cool looking Collector’s Edition being done by Limited Run games that comes with:

  • The Game (pictured above is PC)
  • Phoenix/Dragon Mirror
  • Five clothing Patches from within the game
  • Sickers from art from the game
  • Light box style lamp

The game will only get 4,000 units on PlayStation 4 and 1,000 units made for PC! Deep Silver has confirmed that all physical copies will have Epic Game Store codes. The Collector’s Edition is also only being sold within North America. AYou can ‘unravel the mystery this November’. What are your thoughts? Are you mad that you backed the game early considering it seems a lot of things are changing?

Corpse Killer getting physical PS4 release by Limited Run Games

Corpse Killer, a early live action full motion video game for the SEGA CD, SEGA Saturn, SEGA 32X, and 3DO is coming back on PlayStation 4. The game was announced via Limited Run Games live show, which means its getting a physical version. The game is being brought to us by the same people that have done the past Digital Picture re-releases, Screaming Villains,

The game hasn’t gotten a solid release date outside of Q3 2019, but can we expect a October release? What are your thoughts?

ToeJam and Earl Collector’s Edition Goes Live on Friday

Don’t adjust your dial-up modem! ToeJam and Earl are “Back in the Groove” in their newest title in almost 17 years. With plenty of funky music and smooth gameplay, the duo also comes with a limited Collector’s Edition thanks to the folks of Limited Run. Along with a physical copy of the game (PS4 or Switch) you also get:

– Themed packaging based on the game’s aesthetics
– Map puzzle board (with 25 possible maps)
– 6 enamel pins (ToeJam, Earl, Latisha, Lewanda, 2 mystery bond box earthlings)
– 10 pin stands for setting up your own level
– Environment cutout standees
– Cassette soundtrack + download code of the game
– A cool and funky 18×24 poster

There are up to 6 possible earthling pins with additional blind boxes sold separately.

And for $69.99 that is not a bad deal, considering the game will probably be $30 upon release. The pre-order goes live on Friday February 15, 2019, with Batch 1 @10am and Batch 2 @ 6pm EST. Considering the love and hype around the series, I have no doubt that this game will be a smash hit. But the orders will go quick, so be ready to boogie on over to the website when they go live! For more updates and info, check the Limited Run twitter and website. And congratulations Greg; here’s to you!!!

Double Switch remaster for PlayStation 4 now available to pre-order from Limited Run Games

Screaming Villains is offering up another FMV classic following the successful remaster of Night Trap. Double Switch, seen by many as an attempt to improve and perfect the Night Trap formula, is now available to pre-order from Limited Run Games for the PlayStation 4. Unlike most Limited Run Games releases, the standard edition is a timed pre-order window with no stock limit. You’ll have until November 16th to pre-order. Meanwhile, there is a limited collector’s edition which, at the time of this posting, is 50% sold out. You can pre-order that here!

SEGA fans know this game best for its SEGA CD version, but the remaster will put that one to shame with crystal clear video and improved gameplay, as well as bonus content.

We spoke to Tyler, head of Screaming Villains, on a Swingin’ Report Show podcast. You can check that episode out here!

Night Trap Mania Lands in August, New Features, New Documentary

Screaming Skulls, Limited Run Games and My Life in Gaming teased announcements today regarding the re-release of Night Trap. Their main point comes with the release date slated for release on August 15th, the same day as Sonic Mania, on PlayStation 4 and Steam for digital download. Four days prior to that you can head over to Limited Run Games to buy a highly limited physical version of the PlayStation 4 version on August 11th. The Xbox One version is set to release at a later time.

In addition to the game, they’re also bundling a prototype, Scene of the Crime, as an additional feature. This served as the basis for Night Trap and has long since been unavailable to the public up until the 25th Anniversary release later this year.

Of course that still means that it’s going to be awhile before you can set traps for the augers and that’s where My Life in Gaming comes in. Their 50 minute documentary details the history of the game from it’s prototype, to it’s initial release on SEGA CD, up to the remaster featuring video game historians and developers to regale on the game’s lasting impact on the industry. Be sure to check out the documentary after the jump as well as some links you should check out regarding the game. There’s something really cool to see three small independent groups come together to help bring back video game history. Even though Night Trap does not hold up in terms of gameplay it’s at least admirable to see the lengths people will go for video game preservation.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap getting physical PS4 release by Limited Run Games

WonderBoyLimitedRunGamesWonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, the remake to the 1989 SEGA Master System cult classic will be getting a physical release this summer by Limited Run Games. This physical version of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4, will come in a standard and regular editions. Limited Run Games tweeted that the physical release will be coming sometime this summer and haven’t given us an update on when we can pre-order.

If you would like to get a physical version of Wonder boy: The Dragon’s Trap, make sure you are ready to pre-order the day it goes live because these releases sell out fast. I mean, look at a list of games they have published that are no longer available.  I’m glad that Dot Emu and LizardCube listened to fans who wanted a physical release and made it happen. For those who asked for a physical release, I hope you guys pick up a copy of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap this summer. But I have a feeling this is going to sell out rather quickly. What are your thoughts on Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap getting a physical release on the PlayStation 4? Are you picking up a copy?

We will keep you updated on this and Night Trap’s Limited Run Games releases.
