Sonic Colors hasn’t sold 1 million units in the US

Nintendo Power has released a list of all the software that has sold over a million copies in the US. There are many titles that we knew where going to make it. The best selling Wii game? Wii Play sold 13.04 million units. Impressive.
SEGA only had 2 games make it on the list. Yes, you guessed it. Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games (2.12 million) and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (1.34 million). Sadly Sonic Colors did not make the list. That means that the game, so far, hasn’t broken 1 million units in the United States.

Damn, that sucks! Lets see how Sonic Generations performs on the PS3 & 360. Hit the jump for the rest of the list.

Nintendo Power’s Classic and Modern Cover Variants Hitting Newsstands

While we had previously reported on the screens found within Nintendo Power’s Shinobi and Sonic Generations 3DS reveal issue, we have yet to share the two versions of the cover. Now hitting newsstands are two way past cool covers featuring Classic and Modern Sonic. I’ve been keeping my eye on my local newsstand, making a sad face every time I saw the old Zelda cover of this past month on the rack. But today the awesome Sonic covers hit and I snatched them right up, thus falling into NP’s trap and giving them double the money. Oh well, it’s worth it for Classic Sonic.

Nintendo Power sheds more info on Thor video game

Specifically the Wii version, who they confirmed will be developed by Red Fly (Mushroom Men developers). The game will have a unique story and gameplay on the Wii, also being said is that the game will be more about Thor’s hammer (Mjöllnir)  than Thor himself.

“In fact, it’s almost more about the hammer than it is about Thor” – Chad Barron, Producer

You will be able to customize Thor’s hammer as you progress through the game, three of the powers you will get in the game are: Storm, Valor and Might. The development team has stated they played around with 10 different control schemes. In the end they decided that too much motion is tiring in action games, so buttons will do regular attacks and motion controls will be used for over the top moves.

The game will feature some of the biggest enemies from Thor’s history, one example enemy given was Surtur. You will be able to unlock Thor costumes by progressing in the game.

Good news, the DS version is being developed by WayForward (A Boy and his Blob and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge).

New Sonic Colors info from Nintendo Power

[Pic not related, but colorful]

Nintendo Power previewed two zones, Sweet Mountain Zone and Tropical Reservoir Zone. They said Sweet Mountain was made up of mountains of pastries. Seems a bit childish, but moving on. Developers are focusing on level design, trying to satisfy old school Sonic fans (we have heard this before). 3-D levels have you running from point to point and compared to Sonic Unleashed’s daytime levels. DS version was compared to ‘Sonic Rush 3’, don’t know if this is a good thing.

2-D areas also featured more ‘platforming’. Tails is involved in the story, but not a playable character. Also Knuckles and Shadow may appear in the game, but not in playable form. Let’s be honest, don’t be shocked if they are in the game. The story will be ‘simple’.
