Total War: Warhammer III announced for PC, coming late 2021

SEGA and Creative Assembly have finally announced the last part of their ‘Total War: Warhammer Trilogy’ which was planned all the way back in April 2015. Total War: Warhammer III is set to launch in late 2021 on both Steam and Epic Games Stores. Pre-orders get a free DLC “Race Pack”, kinda funny that the gaming world is OK with pre-order DLC because the studio actually got grief when the first game launched over this practice.

Judgment Remastered announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Stadia

Judgment is a great game, one that I think any fan of the Yakuza franchise should give a try. While I enjoyed most of the game, there were moments within the game that could have used polished (one of those scenes is actually shown a bit in this trailer), so I hope the newly announced “Judge Eyes Remastered” (Judge Eyes being the Japanese name) fixes those issues. The new remastered version will cost you $39.99. This will also mark the debut for the game outside a Sony platform, with it being on Xbox and Stadia (who cares about that one, right?).

This is also the first time a RGG Studio game has gotten a world wide release date on the same day in Japan with the rest of the world. The game is set to come out on April 21st, 2021! Judgment Remastered is said to run at 4K at 60fps, but also include all the DLC on the disc. Hit the jump for the press release from SEGA:

Taxman’s Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 Definitive Mobile Ports Finally get Decompiled by Fans Allowing Unofficial PSVita and PC ports

I will admit that I’m not really well versed on how this whole reverse engineering works, but thankfully twitter user Rubberduckycooly does and has now decompiled Christian “Taxman” Whitehead’s Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 mobile ports, which are considered by fans as the definitive versions of these titles.

You can check out Rubberduckycooly’s github page for future updates on this project.

This project would allow us to run Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 mobile ports on other platforms natively. So far we have seen people posting that its working on Windows, Mac, Linux, and the PlayStation Vita! This could also mean we can get fan ports on other hacked handhelds or consoles as well, but we shall see where the project goes. From what I understand, rubberduckycooly used the Sonic CD SDK base to get these ports on PC, Vita; so we shall see what happens in the future.

Really though, why hasn’t SEGA released these versions on all current consoles? Am I the only one that things its a waste to keep them mobile only?

Persona 5 Strikers coming West to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam on February 23rd, 2021

The wait for Persona 5 Strikers is almost over! I know there has been a lot of upset fans that Persona 5 Strikers had been pretty hush, hush on its release in the West. This trailer was actually leaked, so its not ‘OFFICIALLY’ announced yet.  Persona 5 Scramble actually came out earlier this year in Japan, in February. That means that it will be 1 year that we get it in the West. Its not that bad of a turn around. The game takes the Dynasty Warriors hack and slash style and combines it with Persona 5‘s great storytelling and characters. Even better? This is suppose to serve as a sequel to the original game.

2020 is so crazy that now Persona is real time combat and Yakuza is a turn based game. Wow.

There was rumors that Koei Tecmo put on their finanical report that they weren’t publishing this title in the West, that’s because its being published by Atlus (aka SEGA basically). As always, I’m super excited to return to the world of Persona 5 and see where this game takes the franchise.

How To Make Sega Ages Releases More Appealing

[If you want to see more content like this, I’d appreciate if you guys subscribe to my YouTube channel. Have a few interesting videos in the works!]

SEGA Ages has been the longest running retro line in SEGA’s history starting up all the way back on the Sega Saturn in 1996, the series would evolve itself into the Sega Ages 2500 series on PlayStation 2, then become Sega Ages Online in early 2012 on PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360. SEGA would later rebrand the series as ‘SEGA 3D Classics’ for the Nintendo 3DS but switched it back to SEGA Ages when they launched the series on Nintendo Switch back in 2018. Since then SEGA has announced and released 19 retro titles on exclusively to Switch with its latest one being Herzog Zwei, a real-time strategy game for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive.

During the announcement of Herzog Zwei the team mentioned that this could be the last release for SEGA AGES as they don’t have any plans for future releases. So I went ahead and asked you guys on the SEGAbits Twitter what SEGA Ages could change to make the titles more appealing and I feel like we are on the same track on changes we would love to see if SEGA continues moving forward with even more releases into 2021 and some issues with the brand that they could fix.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake heading to PS4, PC, and Xbox One by end of year, also coming to next gen consoles

It looks like Zbigniew Dębicki, CEO of Forever Entertainment, the company that has created the Panzer Dragoon: Remake and will be doing The House of the Dead remakes sooner than later, has spoken about the game coming not only to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; but also next generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. In a newly translated chat with the CEO by Panzer Dragoon World, the plan is to release the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by the end of the year:

According to the CEO, Panzer Dragoon: Remake is set to be released on other platforms like PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (non-Stadia version) by the end of the year, but we will also be getting a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions later down the line. I can already hear Limited Run Games salivating at all the different releases (oh, hi Josh). We shall see, Panzer Dragoon: Remake launched on March 10, 2020 on Nintendo Switch.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis releasing 2021, updating original game system and graphics engine

Today’s Xbox Game Showcase had a surprise for SEGA fans. Dubbed “the latest entry in the series” and released to celebrate the original PSO’s 20th anniversary, the game will update PSO2’s game system and graphics engine and is planned to release on a global scale, including Japan and North America.

The official accounts have said your progress will carry over. The game will release to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows 10 in North America and for Japan it is set for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and the cloud (PC and Switch). More information as we hear it, and in the meantime check out the official website.

Persona 4 Golden out now to buy and play on Steam

As you know, we posted before that Persona 4 Golden was suppose to be coming out on Steam and announced as part of the PC Gamer Show. Well, the PC Gamer Show just started, as I’m typing this and it seem Atlus got trigger happy because the store listing for Persona 4 Golden is already up to purchase! The game will cost you only $19.99, with a extra $5 dollars getting you the ‘Digital Deluxe’ Edition that comes with a digital art book and soundtrack.

Persona 4 Golden coming out to anything outside of the PlayStation Vita is a huge deal, since it was exclusive for so many years. Not only that, this port is on a platform not owned by Sony, which might come to a shock to long time Persona gamers.

Persona 4 Golden shows up on SteamDB listing, could be announced at the PC Game Show (UPDATE!)

Pixelbuster on Twitter has found the following SteamDB listing for Atlus’ acclaimed PlayStation Vita exclusive Persona 4 Golden. We first got the news that Atlus opened up a Steam page and confirmed that they will be showing off new products at PC Gaming Show 2020. We do know that Atlus used to have a rule that if they ported a game to another console, that they would have to add new features. Seems that this has been dropped with the release of Catherine Classic on PC. It seems we might be getting even more ports of older Atlus classics if Persona 4 Golden gets announced soon.

At this point it would be a huge missed opportunity not to just release Persona 4 Golden on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well. Why not? The PC Game Show 2020 will air on June 13th, so we will probably get this confirmed really soon.

UPDATE: So what we know for sure is that its a game by Atlus, oddly enough SteamDB people have come out and said the following “This is not confirmed to be Persona, it did not leak on SteamDB. Take these rumors with a grain of salt.” It seems that ‘Code Fusion’ has a support page for this game, on half of SEGA, so there is also that.

Streets of Rage 4 coming to Microsoft Game Pass on day one

While Streets of Rage 4 was already teased as a Game Pass game, it wasn’t confirmed or really talked about after the announcement. Was the game going to be timed exclusive? Would it be on sale first then come to Xbox Game Pass? Now the Facebook page has confirmed that it will be available to Game Pass consumers the same day as it goes on sale digitally.

The issue? Its coming soon, without a solid release date. I guess now we wait.

[Thanks for the heads up Brandon!]
