There are no word on this portion of the broadcast, but may include details based on the rumors of the upcoming Sonic game. Do you like your dinner staring back at you with a pissed off face? If so, SEGA’s new ‘PuyoPuyoMan‘ (Google translate) might be for you! This meaty edible is part of SEGA promotion for Puyo Puyo’s 20th Anniversary last year. The product came out in January 23rd and already its a big seller. It seems to have sold out at 25 shops.
The PuyoPuyoMan is suppose to include tasty pork and bamboo shoot. They say that the red one is spicy, if you see the picture in the gallery below you will see that they also turned the other Puyo Puyo’s into snacks. A delicious Puyo could be yours for about $2 bucks (and if you live in Japan, of course).
Everyone seems to be going crazy today for Sonic Generation, it is out in the US if you didn’t know. But what about the other franchise celebrating 20 years? Puyo Puyo? Sadly we won’t be getting the 20th Anniversary game in the West, but that isn’t going to stop you from at least trying it.
If you log into your Japanese PSN account, you can now download the Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary demo. You will get to try out four rule sets: Puyo Puyo Sun, Puyo Puyo Fever, Active, and Pair Puyo. Pair Puyo is new and exclusive to this title; it allows you to play 2vs2 with shared lives.
In the end you will always be able to import it. The game is coming out December 15th in Japan for PSP, Wii and 3DS. The full version will have over 20 rule sets to choose from.
The latest in the J-League Pro Soccer Club! series comes at a rather quiet time for the Japanese market with sluggish sales all round. However, the series that has declined since its heydays, still continues to be big seller for SEGA, so how has the latest edition been doing and what other SEGA title continues to chart? Continue to see if J-League Pro Soccer Club! 7: Euro + managed to make it to the number one spot.
SEGA-Sammy are putting in some big bucks to advertise Puyo Puyo. They are sponsoring a KONDO Racing Team. This will mean that there will be big Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary billboards in the racing track and that the franchise will have its own sponsored car.
It feels good seeing SEGA give big props to the Puyo Puyo franchise. I thought it was going to be overshadowed by the Sonic hype, but it’s getting some big bucks and love in Japan. Don’t hold your breath for a western version of this title.
So some of you guys on here have probably wanted to import the new Puyo Puyo 20th anniversary game, but dont’ know if you should pay the extra for the limited edition or go with the regular? Well, now we have an unboxing of the limited edtition and I have to say, its well worth the extra cash.
It has a ton of key chains, nicer packaging and a hand fan. Yes, a hand fan. Hit the jump to see those pictures!
Sonic isn’t the only SEGA franchise to be celebrating 20 years of awesome, so is Puyo Puyo. The issue for us here in the west? SEGA hasn’t announced it. But if you live in Japan, you will be getting some nice pre-order bonuses.
Below are the photos of the pre-order items that include a gree puyo plushie, key chain, stickers, and much more.
