Amazon leaks ‘Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise’ Western localization

It seems that SEGA has plans on localizing Hokuto no Ken, the Fist of the North Star game created by the Yakuza developers considering that Amazon has listed ‘Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise‘ product page (which they have taken down). The listing was spotted by Twitter user @RedMakuzawa and it seems that the product page has now been pulled.

Don’t be shocked if you see it revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference tomorrow, considering that Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

SEGA announces Fist of the North Star game by Yakuza studio

It seems that Yakuza Studios is hard at work over there, because they announced not one, not two, not three, but four new projects. As you seen from our last posts, this amounts to a remake of Yakuza 2, a new Yakuza side game with new protagonist and even a Yakuza Online mobile game. But sometimes the studio wants to take a break from the world of Yakuza, hint them making a Fist of the North Star game with the Yakuza 6 graphical engine. UPDATE: Its actually running on the Yakuza 0 engine!

The game is going by the name of ‘Yakuza of the North Star‘, but will probably get a real title down the road. It seems like a working title. It has been confirmed that the voice actor for Kazuma Kiryu (Takaya Kurdoa) will also be voicing Kenshiro! Seems that the game is in early stages and we will be hearing more about it come 2018 or even in the Tokyo Game Show next month!

SEGA has confirmed that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will launch both digitally and physically in the Americas and Europe on March 20, 2018. SEGA has also priced the game at $59.99. Nothing surprising there. But SEGA did confirm that people that pre-order get a launch copy that includes a hardcover art book that doubles as a disc holder. Pretty neat.

Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami are coming West

We did it folks, we whined about Yakuza games not coming west so much in the last decade that SEGA finally has 3 unreleased Yakuza games coming to English regions. SEGA announced at the PlayStation Experience event that Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami are coming West. What does this mean? That means we have Yakuza 0, a prequel will be coming in January 2017 with the remake of the first game (Yakuza Kiwami) coming in summer 2017 and Yakuza 6 will tie it up with a early 2018 release date. Never thought i’d say this, but its pretty good being a Yakuza fan right now. I have been following the series since the first game came out in Japan and always supported the franchise when I could.

Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami are coming west, let that sink into your head. Yeah, I seriously can’t believe. it. Support the titles by giving them a pre-order and saying nice things to SEGA via their social media. After multiple titles bombed, they are still listening to fans. Who will be picking up a copy? Are you excited? let us know in the comments below!

Yakuza 5 western launch trailer packs a punch

Yakuza 5 is finally out in the West after three long years of waiting! While its not the best trailer I have ever seen for the franchise, its definitely one of the better American trailers I have seen. I’m glad SEGA figured that characters talking in Japanese in trailers is fine and won’t scare off potential buyers.

I have been playing Yakuza 5 on the PS3 and will have a review up in couple of days, but so far I recommend buying it if you liked the past titles.

It seems that SEGA of Japan (not America or Europe sadly) are having a surprise announcement on August 18th. The announcement will be part of an event where they will announce the ‘Yakuza (Ryu Ga Gotoku in Japan) Character General Election’ contest at Shinjuku Alta Vision.

So, what do you guys reckon this ‘surprise announcement’ is all about?

Toshihiro Nagoshi or better known as the man with an awesome tan, who has helped create games like Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza, was part of a recent article by Famitsu called “Future of Games”. Nagoshi says that the Japanese console game market has had bad growth and that the international market has been showing signs of a drop. He says that developers will have to combat this by being more aware of problems with their games and come up with solutions.

We posted earlier today all the details about the ‘Another Drama’ gameplay details in Yakuza 5. They are basically side missions for each character, but unlike past games, this game will give each character their own gaming mechanic. Making playing as individual characters more personal. Kazuma gets taxi battles where you get to drive and Haruka gets a Project Diva type rhythm game (see above).
