Total War: ATTILA – Blood & Burning Pack

Unleashing the full horror of the apocalypse! The Blood & Burning add-on brings blood effects, decapitations, limb-lops, disembowelment and more to Total War: ATTILA. Disease-ridden soldiers can be seen vomiting on the battlefield and decapitations and gore-slicked event pictures feature on the campaign map.

If that kind of thing floats your boat, the ‘Blood & Burning Pack’ is available on Steam now for just £1.99/$1.99.

Creative Assembly is celebrating 15 Years of Total War

Human history is a bloody and violent one. Kingdoms and empires have risen and fallen at the edge of a sword. From the time we first sharpen flint we’ve been a pretty stabby lot– thank goodness for that! Total War simply couldn’t exist without it. Thanks to SEGA and Creative Assembly we can relive our ancestors violent, tyrannical and stabby ways in a fun game! Yay!

The Total War franchise is celebrating its 15 year anniversary in 2015! Total War spans 11 games, over 2000 years of historical warfare and an incredible estimated 4.8 billion battles waged in the last 15 years. To celebrate this milestone SEGA and Creative Assembly have released a trailer (see above) to reflect on their own history and give us a hint of what’s to come.

If you visit the EGX Rezzed show in London this weekend you’ll be able to play both retro and modern titles spanning 15 years of Total War history. Plus a ‘huge’ Total War prize giveaway! See you on the battlefield!

The Creative Assembly’s first Warhammer game to be Total War: Warhammer

totalwarwarhammerleak

Over two years ago SEGA announced that they and The Creative Assembly had partnered with Games Workshop to make Warhammer games. Now, seemingly not long before the game is supposed to be officially announced, we know what the first game to come out of this deal is. Total War Center forum member StormOfRazors had received the book: “The Art of Total War” about eleven days before its intended release date of January 23rd. And in it he noticed a passing mention of Creative Assembly’s Warhammer game.

As it turns out, the game will combine Total War with the Warhammer series in Total War: Warhammer. Seeing how this book is coming out in a little more than a week, hopefully SEGA will give us a good look at this game pretty soon.

Why its the perfect time for SEGA gamers to join the PC master race

SEGAPCmasterrace
Ever since SEGA went 3rd party, fans have been looking for a new console to call home. The issue? SEGA, like all big 3rd party publishers, likes to keep their games in a multitude of devices and consoles. Now that the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One are already out, which one should a SEGA fan buy? Well, if you will take a few minutes to hear me out, I’ll tell you why I personally prefer the PC for gaming over the new consoles.

You can now save up to 85% on some of the best Total War games, if you are a SEGA fan and haven’t tried the series out, you might want to check out this sale. I recommend trying Total War: Shogun 2 to start off.  I know there have been a few friends that have wanted to try this franchise out and now that the prices on this sale are decent enough, it won’t cost you too much to dip your fingers in.

The best part is that most of the Total War games use Steam and support all the features like cards, achievements and some even support the Workshop.

SEGA-Sammy’s net income up 400% from last year

segaSAMMY
Its crazy knowing that filtering your content can do so much good for your company, especially SEGA’s recent financial results for the first quarter of its 2014 fiscal year. SEGA-Sammy’s operating income for the quarter ended on June 30th and totaled 16.1 billion yen ($163.85 million), 197.7 percent higher than the same time last year. Net income came in at a (for SEGA-Sammy) staggering 12.9 billion yen ($131.6 million), which is a 408.8 percent increase year-over-year.

SEGA-Sammy totally improved their consumer business segment, which includes those video games you loved published by SEGA and its Japanese pachislot/pachinko machine division. Panchislot/pachinko branch of the company saw a increase of revenue of 138.5%, totaling 18.7 billion yen ($190.2 million).

According to SEGA-Sammy’s press release, their latest RTS game (which they got by buying the team/their franchises from THQ for 26 million) Company of Heroes 2 sold a staggering 380,000 copies. I know most of you will see this and say it isn’t over a million units so it is a failure, but you have to know that this report is from June 30th, the game launched on June 25th. The only other major SEGA retail title outside of Company of Heroes 2, was the Playstation Portable Japan only title 7th Dragon 2020-2. SEGA’s publishing side saw a year-over-year decrease of 9.7 percent, selling 1.21 million units.

SEGA also reported favorable performance of their digital games on Windows PC, Playstation Vita and mobile devices. SEGA-Sammy state that Phantasy Star Online 2 (Japan only for now) helped bring the operating income of the consumer division up to 39 million yen (approximately $396,000).

It should be a good year for SEGA with Total War: Rome II, Football Manager 2014 and Sonic Lost Worlds around the corner.

Total War modder creating his own RTS called ‘Ultimate General: Gettysburg’

UG_2
The creator of the Total War mod Darthmod is now creating his own real-time strategy game being called Ultimate General: Gettysburg. The game will focus on the Battle of Gettysburg and will allow users to join either the Union or Confederate.

Choice’s players make will effect future missions, including tactical decisions that will impact solider’s morale. This game is just a first step, with promises of updates to improve gameplay, graphics and more depending on player feedback.
