Yakuza Kiwami 2 extended trailer shows why its the best remake SEGA’s ever produced

Yakuza Kiwami 2 had its big showing at the Tokyo Game Show 2017 and is set to hit Japan in a few short months. SEGA has gone out of its way to impress Japanese consumers with a extended story trailer giving them a look at all the plot points from the 2006 PlayStation 2 game and brand new plots being introduced in the remake.

This remake is one of the best (if not the best) remake SEGA has ever produced. Or at least its looking that way. Though stating that is sorta a given considering that SEGA doesn’t produce many remakes, which I really do feel that they should. Especially of a high caliber such as this. SEGA always seems like a company that loves moving forward, so I’m glad that they are remaking these decade old titles. What are your opinions on Yakuza Kiwami 2? Will you be picking it up when it finally comes West?

Sonic Forces sends classic Sonic to Casino Forest in new gameplay video

A new Sonic Forces gameplay video has released showcasing a classic Sonic stage titled Casino Forest. The video description reads as follows: “Classic Sonic enters the Casino Forest, ancient ruins currently being converted to a casino by Eggman. But it’s not all fun and games as perilous traps line the ancient facades.”

While the stage does look like a combination of assets from Sonic Generations Casino Night Zone DLC and Sonic Lost World‘s Silent Forest, it does look like fun and I love the combination of tropes. What do you think of the latest Sonic Forces reveal?

Sonic Forces Japanese promotion video hits, revealing new cutscenes

A new Sonic Forces trailer has just released from SEGA of Japan featuring new footage from the upcoming game. Several new cutscenes are shown, including Eggman introducing the new enemy Infinite, the avatar character seeing Sonic and his friends, and a large scale battle featuring Sonic and friends and dozens of avatar characters. Interestingly, it is looking like Tails, Amy, Knuckles, The Chaotix, Silver and Rouge have their own base of operations and this is where the avatar character will spend some of their time. We also get a peek at a futuristic city area.

Suffice to say, a lot of fun little things are littered throughout this trailer and it’s worth a watch. Now if I only knew Japanese…

SEGA officially announces Yakuza Kiwami 2, Goro Majima will be playable

We all knew it was coming thanks to Sony’s mistake on early Friday morning but SEGA has now officially announced Yakuza Kiwami 2. Following from the success of Yakuza Kiwami, SEGA began developing a remake of the second Yakuza game. It’s obvious to see the mass improvements the dragon engine is already providing as they bring this classic back for the modern generation. Personally speaking Yakuza 2 has my favorite story and cast of characters in the series but the game obviously has been held back by the technology of the time so to see it updated brought a smile to my face.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 promises to feature seamless maps of Osaka and Tokyo. The theme song for Yakuza Kiwami  2 is being performed by SiM, a Reggae Pop band. Yakuza Kiwami 2 hits the PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 7th of this year. No word about a Western release, but I wouldn’t expect it until months after Yakuza 6 ships.

Just the other day the PlayStation YouTube account unleashed the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Shenmue 3 game and it sure got mixed reactions. Sonic Forces “Enter Infinite” Trailer Released

The Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube account has released a new trailer for Sonic Forces showcasing some cutscenes featuring the new villain Infinite. Worth pointing out, that we also get a glimpse of additional stages from the game. All the previously revealed villains make appearances as well in Park Avenue, which lines up with past reveals. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux trailer shows off graphical upgrades

Atlus Japan has released a two minute gameplay trailer for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS port of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, which compares the field graphics to the original released on the Nintendo DS back in 2009. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux won’t just update the graphics but also promises new story content, additional endings, a new dungeon, and more surprises. It would seem that Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is the definitive version of the 2009 Nintendo DS game.

You can check out the trailer to see if the upgraded graphics on the Nintendo 3DS version of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is worth the upgrade (that’s if you played it back in 2009). While the Nintendo 3DS doesn’t feature incredible in-game graphics, the jump from Nintendo DS to Nintendo 3DS is quite large.  Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux hits Japan on October 26 and hits the West sometime in 2018. But what is your opinion on Atlus re-releasing older titles on Nintendo 3DS?
