Title: Question about Japanese 3DS
Post by: Centrale on March 21, 2017, 06:39:58 pm
If I get a new Japanese 3DS LL from Play-Asia, do I need to get a power supply separately? Or charging station or something?

Depend on where you live.
Also as far as I know 3DS LL do not normally come with chargers, so...

If you live in Japan/Asia (220/240V):
- If you're already own a DSi or 3DS before that, you could use its charger right away.

If you live in UK/USA (110/120V):
1. Use power supply; or
2. Use third party charger that could accomodate 100-240v.
    Ex. : https://www.hyperkin.com/sony/5-in-1-universal-power-adapter-for-ds-ds-lite-dsi-psp-and-usb.html (https://www.hyperkin.com/sony/5-in-1-universal-power-adapter-for-ds-ds-lite-dsi-psp-and-usb.html)

I had a friend who damaged his imported 3DS without knowing this 110/120V - 220/240V difference.

Thanks Berto! I live in the US so I figured there must be some important difference in the power supply. I also thought I remembered hearing that power supplies are no longer included with 3DS's. I've never had any of the prior consoles so I don't have one.
