Sonic the hedgehog 1 Taxman/Stealth edition finally out
« on: May 15, 2013, 07:55:23 pm »

Heard that it's only out in europe?

Anyway just went through the game a little bit on my iphone. Made it to star light zone.

This ain't no ordinary remake. While the game remains mostly the same(which I applaud them for as well, because its hard to copy something and make it nearly identical from the most tiny details), some stuff are actually refined, enhanced etc. The upped music quality is very noticable and sometimes even with some extra touches.

The menu is just brilliant. If you thought sonic cd's menu was nice, this one is even a step further.

Finally I wanna say that going through it on the mobile with the touchscreen is never going to be like with a controller ofcourse. But damn the combination of an already hardgame with hard controls makes the game even harder lol. I imagine some people could get agitated by this

...

...

oh and Tails and knuckles are unlockable !!

serious kudos to the guys who made these. Support it if you can imo

Edit: Oops wrong section. Can any mods move this to general SEGA discussion?

Nothing new yet. My phone is being charged but it seems sonicstadium has shared some things like:

Beside being able to unlock tails and knuckles, you can also play a sonic&tails mode similar to sonic 2

And that there's a hidden easter egg.

The port is great. i could swear with every experience they're getting by remaking these games, they could make the best sequel ever. The menu shows that the engine is even capable of 3d because when you choose sonic 1's box, it actually opens and gets out the cartridge. The presentation is unbelievably well done

I wonder if Sega is holding on to release this game on next-gen XBLA and PSN?

got this on android finally

i like how you can customize the controls, a problem i had with Sonic CD is moving Sonic to the left because of the position of the dpad. I like how you can position it how you want in this game.

Genius idea by taxman, i've never seen another game do that before.

Just got this last night, but haven't had enough time to go through and clear it yet (just got to Marble Zone). Loving this version so far.

Barry, one question: How?!?!

Start a game in No Saving mode, tap each letter: s e g a and hear a chime. On the title screen swipe up with two fingers to access level select. Play sound test 01 09 09 01 00 06 02 03 and hear a chime. Select a stage, tap the score (upper left) and you're debugging!
