The Fat Plumber Thread
« on: February 24, 2010, 03:46:43 pm »
So, Nintendo Media Summit where a lot of nothing was announced. They did show a new trailer of Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I honestly think it looks a lot better than the first one, level-wise.

I'm actually pretty impressed that Galaxy 2 is coming out in May.  Followed closely by Sin and Punishment 2 and Metroid: Other M the next month.

I'm really excited for all of these games and thought that I'd be waiting until the holiday season for a couple of them.
Now the big question is: what the hell does Nintendo have planned for the holidays.  Maybe Zelda is actually going to come out this year.

I don't know though. Last time they blew their wad on the big titles (Zelda, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros.) all pretty close to launch, they followed it up with Animal Crossing and Wii Music for the following Christmas.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for that not happening again.

It's Nintendo, they could have Iizuka working on the game and everyone would still like it.

I never clicked with Mario games but I do enjoy 1-3 and Super Mario World. I tried Mario 64 and never understood what was so appealing about it. I have also been playing Super Mario Galaxy 1 on my Wii recently. It's alright, but it would work fine with just a regular controller setup. I'd probably appreciate it more if I only had one game system.

Good to see a sequel is being released. A lot of people seemed to have enjoyed the first a lot.

I am a huge fan of Super Mario 64, but did not like Super Mario Galaxy much at all. This looks heaps better from what we have seen so far, and the release date is shocking in a good way!

I hope this does not mean the next console Zelda game is not coming out this year like they said... I mean, I doubt it, but like, crap, DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN THE LEGEND OF ZELDA AND HALO REACH! DON'T!

It all comes down to the amount of same old shit you want, Sanus. Reach seems to have new stuff in it but not to the point of being impressive. To me it seems it'll be another game for the fans like ODST was. Zelda will be the usual find your weapons, find Triforce, save princess scheme. I guarantee you that. By that account, Reach wins, Zelda has been done a lot more times.

The Legend of Zelda is like, my favorite franchise not made by SEGA though! Well, it will probably have Wii MotionPlus functions, so I guess that drops my interest in it a lot.

Either way, I would be completely shocked if the new Zelda came out this year. I mean, we never even saw a screenshot yet!

You should buy Zelda.

It's like, one of the good series Nintendo have left that they still support.

Based on ODST I won't even look at reach, and I really enjoyed the singleplayer for halo 3.
If zelda does come out this year then this will be an even better line up than the first year of the wiis release.
