Title: Konami
Post by: Spock on November 06, 2016, 10:05:18 pm
Does anyone else think that Konami has been kind of lagging lately? I used to enjoy the Metal Gear games and now it just seems like they are completely garbage these days.

They foolishly decided to switch focus to the mobile market quite some time ago now. Despite all the praise Kojima gets, I actually think they can do better without him. Not to be an ass, but beyond MGS...well, there's nothing.

Silent Hill was passed around to whoever, PES is just football and in my opinion, the Metal Gear series desperately needs a fresh start with a more coherent story arc.

And the worst part was like SEGA passing around its IP to outside developers . Konami own In-House team could have made a brilliant SH game . Konami had tons of talent and were a great studio . Its a shame that Kojima-san got so much for the credit and that they've turned to the mobile for quick and easy profits .

I just hope SEGA Japan doesn't follow suite

I have never played any of the S. H. games. Which one is the best?

Silent Hill 2 is widely considered the best. 3 is good - you need to play 1 to really enjoy it mind. 4 gets some hate, but if you can ignore certain issues, in its own right, I found it really good.

SEGA seems to be going the opposite way. They let Atlus USA focus on bringing Japanese titles, more focus on development (even if they are titles that work with less risks) and they are even announcing new arcade titles like Daytona 3. Konami is totally opposite, they are now releasing less games than ever. I think 2012/2016 is their lowest.

Konami needs new management for sure.

Daytona USA 3 isn't what you think and Konami still make Arcade games themselfs. I liked Altus since the Saturn days, but want Sega Japan to produce the goods and they seem to be mostly on Mobile these days bar the odd console title

I think the new  Super Bomber Man R game for Nintendo Switch looks pretty fun.  Konami should keep making classic style games like that and not mess with the formula like what they did to Metal Gear Solid, ugh!

Yeah, it's really fun for multiplayer.
But for single player, previous Bomberman games are better (gameplay wise, not graphically).

Almost gotten one on 3DS but cancelled. :(
If you haven't played them, try out the Gamecube Bomberman.
