Yeah, and sometimes it's not from the creators, but from the developer who's also to be a fan and then asked permission from SEGA to make them officially from third party publishers:

I can accept that. That even if it's not by Sega, the fact Sega at least said "sure" is better than not getting remakes of the Sega games we grew up with at all.

The thing is, the "Sega Renaissance" as I called it barely had anything to do with Sega other than Sega letting it happen amongst third-party developers who did all the work while Sega probably got a cut of profits just from IP ownership than doing anything.

From the looks of it, the "Power Surge" appears Sega themselves are developing games and if the Power Surge really get's Sega's leg back into TLC for their various IPs over than how brief the Sega Renaissance, well I hope those third-party developers who gave more of a damn over Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage and House of the Dead than Sega did would be let into Sega's family over it.

Funny thing is Streets of Rage is both Sega Renaissance and Power Surge.
SEGA let third party took SoR 4 and then making SoR Revolution by themselves, while giving the developer who made SoR4 handles Shinobi sequel.

Will REvolution have any connections with SoR4? Or will it be a reboot?

"Nothing Has Ever Surpassed The Street Fighter II Boom" Says Japanese Legend Daigo Umehara

Quote
"Here's how big of a boom it was. SF2 was so popular that people were quitting their day jobs to open arcades. All you had to do was have this game, and you'd make money... Supermarkets had it, bathhouses had it, bookstores, toy stores, video stores, laundromats and candy stores. Everyone had the game."
When asked when the next boom came, Umehara says that it didn't.
"I'm serious. There hasn't been one," he replies. He says that people who assume Street Fighter IV's success gave it parity with the second game perhaps weren't around to experience Street Fighter II's zenith. "I'm sure people unfamiliar with the SF2 craze thought SF4 seemed like a big moment for fighting games, but... It was a far cry from that first boom. There are reasons for that. More forms of entertainment, more types of games were available."
He also claims that while ...

The First Rule Of Street Fighter II's Moves? They Had To Make You Laugh!

Quote
According to illustrator and designer Akira “Akiman” Yasuda explains the process of coming up with new moves and specials. "We'd go through the moves one-by-one and approve them. There was this unspoken rule we operated by, where 'It wasn't good until it made us laugh.'," he says.
"Take Dhalsim's punch, for example. In the actual planning documents, we set a limit on punches, that they couldn't extend further than 128 pixels. But in that process of reviewing the characters, we decided to extend it a little further, then a little further, then a little further more… until one day we saw how long his arms came out and everyone cracked up. That was the moment we knew it was good."
This totally changed the way the team approached these iconic moves, ...
