Pier Solar
-
You do have Pier Solar! Oh, it's in your Top 5 even. It's worth $70 then? I watched an unboxing video for it on YouTube and the set looks beautiful. The gameplay and music look damn good as well. Should I invest in a copy? It would be great to review a NEW game for Genesis. Hehe.
I'm working on a 2-Man Scramble for General Chaos. However, I'm gonna' record a proper introduction to it. I think that's what has been lacking from those segments.

I have it (the reprint edition), and the manual is the best looking mega Drive/Genesis one you will ever see!
I sadly haven't played much of it...probably due to other games occupying my time, but it plays well from what I've experienced, and it's also apparently a hard RPG to finish.
I should get to that game once I run through Sparkster.
-
I have Pier Solar! As well as a burned version of the enhanced music CD. I even made an unboxing video:

It's interesting that the Genesis/Mega Drive text on the Boxart/Cartridge are switched depending if you live in NA or EU.
Mine is Mega Drive with Genesis underneath!
-
sonic 3d no doubt.

about the mortal kombat part. Yo kev how can u say that :s i guess its a matter of taste. but i found MK1 of the megadrive a better gameplay but the graphics were crappier then the snes
but mk2 of the MD crappy? im sorry that hurts cause that game is better then of the snes. i actually played the snes version back in the days. and the only props is it has more voices. but the graphics and the physics of the MD totally rock.
ok MK1 of the Md loses in terms of graphics
-
- Sonic 1 - 3&k
- Phantasy Star 4
- Streets of Rage 2
- Gunstar Heroes
- Outrunners
- ALIEN SOLDIER!!!!! <-- go play this right now if you've never played it before!!
Honourable mentions go to:
- Shinobi series
- Vectorman
These all are pretty much the only genesis games I would go back to playing in this day and age.

Well my friend look @ this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcJs6wxdpsA
Look @ the shadows and the backgrounds, also listen to the sounds. No voices only fight and finish him/her.
Sorry im a verry big sega fan, but also a mk fan. My gamertag on xbox 360 is Noob saibot. I think i had almost every versions of mk so i think that i know what im talking about.
-
For some reason I still prefer the genesis version. It's a good example of where the limited genesis soundchip could produce some nice catchy versions of its own. I really like it, allthough I aknowledge the pros of the snes version like the graphical effects and paralex as mentioned in the video.
Also I think the gameplay feels subtly better for the genesis. I don't know what it is but it's moreo f the feel or something. But then again this could all be because I had that version so i may be biased in this

Two Crude Dudes is funny because it's strange, but as far as gameplay is concerned it's really just a so-so brawler.
-
Probably Kid Chameleon or Ristar. I love Bonanza Bros, Ecco the Dolphin, and Eternal Champions as well
-
Aladdin
ESWAT
Ghostbusters
Sonic Spinball

My top five is Monster Word IV, Alien Soldier, Contra Hard Corps (Japanese Version. I'm too casual for the western releases :'( ), Streets of Rage 2 and Sonic 2.

Japanese Version of Contra Hard Corps also has better cover art since it showed all 4 playable chars.
That game is the first Contra game I've ever played so it's definitely my favorite Contra.

Agreed. Sadly, it was too cool for North American and European audiences. :))
My first Contra was the NES one (great game!) but Hard Corps is my favorite too. The characters, bosses, music, graphics and that crazy action...everything is perfect!

You would think it would be the other way around and the japanese version would be harder but no. XD

Aladdin
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Phantasy Star 4
Landstalker
Gunstar Heroes
Revenge of Shinobi
So far that's what I've played...yet to explore more on Genesis. But its still an awesome system nonetheless.
-
No one mentioned Mortal Kombat? Maybe it's because it was not as good on the Genesis as it was on the SNES, but still worth playing.

To be honest, I think these games didn't age well. There's better fighting titles on both consoles.
By the way, everyone should play the Misadventures of Flink. It's a fun platformer and one of the prettiest Genesis games ever made.

Yeah, I've played it. It's a solid platformer.
The thing is ... Misadventures of Flink was only released on Europe.
The North American version was being upgraded as a SEGA CD game, so the genesis version didn't exist.
Good : Misadventures of Flink's weakness was its music, too generic. On SEGA CD version, the music's been remade a lot lot lot better.
Bad : Limited fan base. SEGA CD's owners' only a small fraction of Genesis owners.

But there's alot of Sega CD games that are decent that I think everyone should play like Shining Force CD and Final Fight CD just to name a few. :D yes, not everyone owns a Sega CD and finding one sold seperately is a pain, most Genesis owners shouldn't be expected to buy another Genesis on top of paying for the CD add on. I own 3 Genesis consoles and still a Sega CD (with Genesis included) cost 100 bucks. I asked if I could get it seperate but nope. I asked about a trade in for one of my model 2 Genesis consoles. Nope. I passed on getting a Sega CD and went straight to emulation instead.
