My tastes depend on the season.
Asparagus has a very short season here so I eat as much as I can when it's ready; I prefer buying locally sourced and grown when I can so generally don't eat of season if I can help it.

I made a great brunch yesterday, I grouped asparagus into three and wrapped the bottom with prosciutto ham, pan fried them in butter and added to toasted sour dough bread with a poached hens egg and hollandaise.

I especially like making Risotto's, at the moment I am making asparagus and sun dried tomato with lemon zest. in a couple of months it will change to saffron poached haddock with spinach and poached egg and then later on in the year butternut squash with fried sage.

Superbock is awesome!

Asparagus is good! ^__^ It's so rare to meet people who like it, too.

Right now, I'm having a nice salad with tofu in it, for the first time ever. Yay for soybeans! <3

Tofu tastes like shit and there is a variation of it that supposedly tastes like human flesh. This gives you a rough example of the audience that eats that sort of thing.

Eat something manly, ya softy!

Never! ^___^

Tofu doesn't taste like anything. I didn't even taste it over the salad dressing.

You need to buy marinated tofu.

Or make your own marinade and leave it in the fridge overnight.

I'll admit that when I was veggie I didn't touch tofu very often.

I love asparagus, even though it makes your wee smell weird!

Something I eat almost everyday is a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. simple but classic. Regular peanutbutter is too sweet for me though so I use natural peanut butter, chunky when I can get it.

Also often I make a black bean and hummus sandwiches. I Toast some bread, spread home made hummus on both sides of the bread, put a layer of black beans down over the hummus, finish it off by putting some cucumber and tomato slices inbetween. Especially good on hot days

I do not get you American and adding peanut butter to everything... Fucking hate the stuff.

Also, funny story when I was a kid I thought when you guys said peanut butter and jelly you were saying you make peanut butter and jello sandwiches (as we call jello, jelly here.)
and I thought you guys were even MORE head crippled then I do now.

^DUDE I'm the same! I was like JELLY!? What the fuck are those bloody yanks up to fuck's sake that's ripper bonza crazy. After being scolded by my parents for swearing I later found out that Jelly was actually Jam (or 'conserve' if you want to sound more upperclass/like a twat).

All in all it was a pretty good Halloween.

I aolso thought Jelly was Jelly, not Jam.

I know chips are crisps but thought Jello was a brand name.

Fun-fact, American people use the word Fanny as a slang for bum, not vagina as us Britons.
plus a Fanny pack sounds much more sinister than a bum-bag.

For the most part we are not just calling jam jelly for the heck of it. That is what it says on 90% of jam jars "Grape Jelly" then in fine print at the bottom it will say "grape jam"

Bumping this sucker!

Made on Saturday night as friends were coming over:

Unfortunately, said friends were having relationship problems or some nonsense. So me and the gf ate it all. Oh well, more for us! It's extremely easy to make, and inexpensive. Also damn good on a hot day.

mint watermelon salad: http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/ ... index.html
spicy beef kebobs with lime: http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/ ... index.html

recommend some coronas to go with it.

Jelly has no seeds, and jam has seeds, or maybe it's the other way around.  Anyway, there is a distinction.
