With numerous SEGA franchises receiving film and TV adaptations following the massive success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, this latest announcement comes as a surprise: Universal Pictures is developing a feature adaptation of SEGA AM2’s iconic arcade driving game, OutRun, with Michael Bay attached to direct and Sydney Sweeney onboard as a producer. The script will be written by Jayson Rothwell for the upcoming film.

Not saying it's impossible, but wasn't OutRun a game that's more for driving for the sake of driving and road trips? Be kind of hard to put that into a movie.

On the other hand, this is ... Michael Bay.
It's most likely would be an action movie so don't expect it would be like the original OutRun.
It will be closer to "OutRun Europa" instead.

In term of money, yes, it beats Sonic 3 a lot.



In term of quality, well ... that's debatable.
I don't enjoy Minecraft movie, Sonic 3 is still the best for me, but then again I'm not a Minecraft player so I could be biased.
