Title: Well enough is enough and it's time for a change! Wii Rules!
Post by: MadeManG74 on February 10, 2010, 11:31:21 pm
Alright then you wags, I've had enough of all this 'Wii is rubbish' nonsense.I'm getting sick of people ragging on the Wii non-stop and behaving like every game on the system is a fly swatting simulator.

I think it's about time we took a good hard look at the console and started listing the games that are on Wii, and are also excellent (and you might have missed out on!)

I understand that there is Bucketloads of horse shite on the system, but people seem to be (either purposely or accidentally) overlooking some of the BEST games this gen on the system!

List your favourite Wii games (yes I am fully expecting you dodgers to have empty posts and say '/thread' or some malarky, but we've heard all the jokes before!)

No More Heroes:
Everyone Knows about this by now, gloriously wacky game, with some great old-school action and good use of the Wii mote without going overboard with it.

De Blob:
One of the best (if not the best) platformer this gen, brilliant art design and even better music. Turn the grey world into a multi-coloured utopia by rolling a blob through ink and painting the town!

MadWorld:
One of the funniest games this gen, and probably one of the most fun too. This is a Sega site, so you all know the drill. Awesome soundtrack to boot!

House of the Dead Overkill
Even resident Nintendo hating, old school loving Psycho Echidna admitted this is the second best HOTD game. 'Nuff said!

Resident Evil 4
It's older than Old Jock McOld, but it's still a top game! Wii controls actually work really damn well too!

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Look at those gorgeous 2D visuals! Old school hack and slash action!

But enough about me, what do you guys like on the system?

UNLESS YOU AREN'T HARDCORE ENOUGH TO POST HERE!

I like I can play better Gamecube games on the Wii... um... I'll get back to you!

My list only had one game that was on Gamecube, the rest were all Wii Exclusives, and that was just off the top of my head, and games that I own.

Anyway (and this isn't aimed at you in particular), the reason I made this thread was I find it annoying that people buy a Wii, then don't buy any decent games, and then complain that all the games suck. It's like buying a Dreamcast and getting Chev's Love Shack and MTV skateboarding and saying the console is a terrible and has no good games.

You know your console is in bad need of games when you have to list Resident Evil 4, a last gen port, as one of the best games on the console.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars - An awesome new entry in the vs. Series from Capcom.

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - A really interesting puzzle game.

Super Mario Galaxy - One of the best 3D platforms I can think of. Great music and visuals.

Ghost Squad - It's only got 3 levels, but with a leveling up system, and tons of unlockables, I put tons of time into this light gun shooter.

There are a bunch of other ones, but I gotta leave for school soon.

No More Heroes is being ported to the 360/PS3 and it looks a million times better:

RE4 doesn't count.

de Blob is boring.

My vote goes to NiGHTS Journey of Screams.

Yeah, it looks better on 360/PS3. Too bad the PS3 version is censored and the game isn't coming out in America.

Don't forget about the sequel that improves on the first one, and is only on the Wii.

Yeah, for now.

Though, we might never get the HD versions.

Punch out is awesome, I enjoyed mario kart wii but think sasar will blow it out the water.
Super paper mario was good too at launch and so was twilight princess.

I think the problem is that there was a full year with no releases.

I really enjoyed NiGHTS: Journey Of Dreams despite whatever criticism it got.
Right there with Monkeyroony on Super Paper Mario.

Excitebots and ExciteTruck are both really fun racing titles too.

Why does it not count if a game is on multiple platforms? Just because it is not exclusive does not mean it is not any good...

Ghost Squad

Rune Factory Frontier

ExciteBots Trick Racing

Boom Blox

Dead Space Extraction

Some other great games include Wario Land: Shake It, Pikmin Play for Wii and the Virtual Console. Tons of amazing games on there. If you do not like it, you suck.

And I want to give another mention of The House of the Dead Overkill, that game is brilliant.

And there are tons of really great games coming to Wii as well. Epic Mickey, The Last Story, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Sin & Punishment 2, etc etc...

Little King’s Story is supposed to be really good.
I picked it up because Cing was one of the developers. Haven't had a chance to play through it yet though, so I'm not going to hype it up much. Just saying it got some solid review scores, and looks good.

PS3 is just a Blu-Ray player to watch Talladega Nights on. I know because my friend has one and saw it selling with Talladega Nights, what a crappy console.  :afroman:
Also, I think there's only been one game here that is also on gamecube.

Heres another Wii Exclusive game that's been getting great reviews.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Sequels to retro games on Wii Ware like:
Excitebike: World Rally
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Contra ReBirth

Or some other solid titles on Wii Ware, like:
Bit. Trip. Beat
Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
World Of Goo

My mistake, it did come to PS2 as well, but apparantly the PS2 version isn't as good.

Trust me, the day you get rid of your Wii/DS and all other Nintendo crap and you look at yourself in the mirror will be a good day.

The day you stop ignoring great games like the ones we posted in this thread, and take a look at yourself in the mirror will be a good day.

Here's another.

Suddenly, half of MadeMang's topic blows up in his face.

But I do think Wii is a good console, people overreact about the quality of it's games far too often.

It has the Nintendo effect. Long periods of no good games. It happen with N64, Gamecube and now with Wii. The only issue this time is that Nintendo is going super super casual with odd games.

Yes, because one or two games going to another console a months or years later means that the system is worthless...

Besides, Dead Space Extraction is a lightgun game, I'm sure that will be great fun with a controller.

LOL PS3, forcing you to buy expensive peripherals to play a handful of games

Then again, you can only watch talladega nights on the system so many times before you get bored!

(Turn-about is fair play.)

I got it for 10 bucks. Sony did not make the gun, actually  Namco did. You can use a USB lightgun if you have them on PS3. Almost anything USB works on it, including headsets.

what relevance does this have to the topic?

My dreamcast hooks up to my tv via it's VGA port in glorious 480p, it looks sharper than a lot of wii games.

I had the intention of playng some more nsmbwii the other day and managed 5 minutes of it, hopefully sonic 4 will keep my attention.

I found New Super Mario Bros. Wii worked best with 2 players. It kept things interesting without being too chaotic (3/4 players)
