Game Informer March 2010

Graphics
The heavy use of particle effects in the desert sandstorms and mountain peak blizzards adds a wild card elements to firefights.

Sound
From head-rattling explosions to the clatterof bullet cassings hitting the ground, this is the best sound design in the genre. It's so detailed you can hear the footsteps of soldiers approaching from behind.

Playability
Smoother aiming and tightened vehicle controls improve the moment-to-moment experience, and the new health regeneration system greatly aids the pacing of the single-player campaign.

Entertainment
A vastly improved single-player campaign complements some of the best tactical multiplayer action on the planet

Replay value
High

Score: 9.5 | Second opinion: 9.5

I was playing it recently and it is a bad Call of Duty ripoff. 2/10.

I didn't like the multiplayer beta. I have the first one sitting here, I got it for the campaign. If I like it I'm sure I'll get the sequel.

I also agree with this downloaded the online demo for it a couple of days ago...

Really was just a total MW2 copy... But unlike MW2 I couldn't get into it in the slightest. Didn't have fun.

Ow can you call battlefield a cod rip off?
The battlefield series created perks and unlocks.

I like both games but the pacing of bad company is more fun for me.

lol MW2 copy? seriously?
First off, The Battlefield series started out before the CoD series.

Secondly, what's in the demo that makes you guys think its a CoD rifopff? Either you're playing it wrong, or didn't give it much chance.

Tactical warfare with emphasize on Teamwork, HUGE maps, vehicles (Land, Air, Sea), completely destructible environment , etc...
Last time I checked, CoD didn't have those.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that BFBC2 isn't a "plug and play" type of game like MW2, it needs time to get into.

Agreed !. BF came before COD (so did a lot of FPS) and its Medal Of Honour that did more than most to bring War FPS to console on the humble PS. And both BF and COD play different enough  from each other to warrant buying both imo .

COD is better in single player mode imo , and the BF series as the Edge for online and Vehicles , and I've  got to give credit to the Frostbite engine , which is having to handle and calculate far more than COD , and one of the few  FPS to have 100% destructive environments

I disagree that cod is better offline, the online portion is by far and away the most compelling element.

I would say I preferred the battlefield series, I like the slower pacing and teamwork in the multiplayer matches but I alps like cods pick up and play style gameplay.

You know what makes the biggest difference to me in FPS games? Kill animations, seriously, COD MW2 has some nice ones and so does Killzone 2. I never knew that little thing would make gunning down some people more satisfying.

It took me playing Dark Void demo to understand.

I really enjoyed the beta for BFBC2.

Yeah they have some nice hollywood style gravity effects, people being blown back through the air by shotgun blasts and grenades being thrown.

I have really enjoyed the bfbc2 demo, it's just a bit more refined bad company but that's all I really wanted anyway.
