That and lowering the requirements for some high level quests, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the forest, caves and desert hard mode free fields that will have their lvl requirements lowered. It could be other quests though, of course.

you're probably right.  It's a little silly that right now hard free field forest, caves, and desert unlock at the exact moment that the first hard tundra arks mission does.  They've got the content, they just need to dole it out a little smarter.

There's a few small details about updates that are coming in October, which will include new photon arts and technics, lvl 50 cap, very hard mode, new rare enemies and bosses, and subclasses.

It's incredible how everything released is not so subtly engineered to keep us playing the same content over and over again.  I don't know about you guys but it would have made more sense if they released ALL the fields in normal mode before even getting into hard.  The whole thing reeks of them stalling until they're able to finish the last two fields.  Hopefully they'll be ready for the US release.

I don't think they're going to be the last 2 fields. Well, they are going to be the last 2 fields before the release of the Vita version, but it's likely that they will keep making new fields afterwards.

Anyway, based on the roadmap, most likely the next new field will come in November.

About the english release, SoA was completely incompetent when it came to updates in both PSOBB and PSU, I'm afraid that history will repeat itself, I wouldn't be surprised if they released the english version of PSO2 with the same content the Japanese version had on release (July 4th).

Next update is going to be in September 26th, which will add new team features, like team client orders, team rooms, expansion to story chapters 5 and 6 plus a new chapter, and a new time attack mission, going through the caves and skyland. The lobbies will also be changed to feature an autumn theme, similar to the summer theme in early august.

Sometime in October, subclasses are going to be added. With subclasses, you have access to a 2nd class photon arts, technics, skills from the skill tree, and 20% of the stats from the 2nd class will be added to the main class. The player can't equip weapons from the 2nd class though, we must rely in weapons that can equiped by all classes. When this update arrives, new weapons that can be equiped by all classes will be released as well.
This update will also include lvl 50 cap, very hard mode, and new photon arts and technics and the introduction of rare enemies and bosses.

I have to reinstall the game with the updates and everything, but since I have a large catalog of games I still gotta finish, I decided to forget about it for a while. It's not worth it till some fundamental changes take place. My only major gripe really is that characters are too overpowered in contrast to the enemy mobs. The game just feels boring when you don't solo or fight everything(with a team) beside the bosses, but i'm not the solo type of guy, that's not why I play PSO. They need to either make the enemies more agressive or the players weaker.

Other than that there's more issues like the bland environments, but I expect that to get fixed eventually in the game's growth process. The game is in a very early state and they're priorities seem to lay with adding more content. I think that's fair but I really hope they fix alot of the core mechanics eventually as well

yeah it's not quite the dream game I was hoping for.  It almost never feels like an adventure.  It's slowly improving with updates but I wish the core bones underneath were a bit more sturdy.  They did the same thing with PSU: Took a crap game and layered on content to end up with a respectable title after 5 iterations.  How about just starting with a great game guys?
