The House of the Dead 1 & 2 Remake (Switch)

Forever Entertainment, the Polish publisher that has collaborated with SEGA with rebooting other classic titles such as Panzer Dragoon, will be remaking The House of the Dead 1 & 2 with MegaPixel Studio as the developer for the games and will be true to the original games’ storyline with some graphical differences and tweaked game play to bring them to modern day gaming.

Probably just like Panzer Dragoon Remake.
The made Switch version first, and months later PS4, X1, and PC version.
I dunno why they made Switch version first, probably because graphically it's the weakest.

Since it's developed by MegaPixel and produced by Forever Entertainment, the same guys that made Panzer Dragoon Remake, I'm hoping it will have a Steam release.
I'm also hoping it will have a VR-mode. I really want more milage for my Oculus Rift S and playing THotD in VR would be absolutely brilliant.

From what I understand, Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record will be out later this year. I dunno if it's made by the same people though given it might be it's own spin-off game than a version of the remake.

No mention of VR on that list... which is a pity because I would really like a VR Mode.
While I can understand that being an on-rail shooter may cause nausia in a virtual reality, I would really like to shoot some ideas and suggestions to Forever on how they could make HotD more VR friendly.

A rep for Forever Entertainment confirmed that the game has been delayed, and will now arrive sometime in spring 2022.
An exact date wasn’t given, but it appears that the publisher just wants to make sure everything is up to speed when it comes to the quality of the port.

I hope the remake will come with limite edition light gun controllers for PC or Switch. I would so want PC Virtua Guns if that's the case.
That would be expensive since it would need R&D fund to make sure the gun worked well on the system and Forever Entertainment is a software developer, not controller maker

For the Switch it might not be that expensive, it could just be a modified version of the Joy-Con gun (http://y2u.be/qpZbmUzdUhk), a plastic shell shaped like the Virtua Gun where the Joy-cons can fit in.
Either that or a third-party manufacturer to make the Virtua Gun for the Switch.
Virtua Gun for the PC, that would be a little more tricky. I know there is AimTrak light guns (https://www.ultimarc.com/light-guns/aimtrak-light-gun/) by Ultramarc (https://www.ultimarc.com/arcade-control-panel) so F3 or R&D may collab with them to make exclusive Virtua Guns for PC, I dunno.
I suppose the last sollution outside of F3 or promotional would be to DIY your own Virtua Gun. Either 3D-print the shell or take apart on old Virtua Gun and put in the components yourself.

Really? If yes, nobody sell those in my country. Saturn and Dreamcast version only here.
PS2 Virtua Cop was compatible with Namco's GunCon 2 / G-Con 2 though,
so I think most of people prefer using it since it was compatible with many games.
The GunCon 2 was only compatible with CRT-based displays though.

Going on to Horde Mode, it is a different beast than the arcade original mode and is definitely not recommended for those who are new to the game. It can definitely be a bit too chaotic with so many creatures on screen to the point that it can be overwhelming. However, once you’ve unlocked the armory and collect the hidden weapons around the Curien Mansion, you’ll be kicking zombie ass in no time. I can tell you that the grenade launcher really comes handy against a group of creatures and projectiles.

No, only for Saturn version. Virtua Cop 2 for Dreamcast uses that Dreamcast Gun that you mentioned.

So last time I played this remake on Steam... I just think it needs more tweaks, though it's perhaps a bit more fixed the last time I played.
For example, I tried saving that scientist hanging from the second floor of the lobby, would normally take a few head shots but it took a few more and dropped the scientist anyway.
Plus I'm still hoping if they will ever make a VR DLC for it.

The script renames the original soundtrack files and copies them into their respective folders.
It also attempts to convert your audio files into ".wav" files, and adds an additional "empty.wav" file in an attempt to fix a bug where Fmod Bank Tools would corrupt the last audio file on each ".bank".

Wish they could cut down on loading times. Almost put Sonic '06 to shame.

I dunno if the XBox X/S or any past XBox consoles had any light guns other than the Sniper Scope Light (https://xbox.fandom.com/wiki/Sniper_Scope_Light_Rifle_%26_Shotgun), but it makes me wonder if the console game will be playable with light guns.

Microsoft seems to still acknowledge the Kinect given they made a new one for the XBox One.
And if Microsoft really wanted to make an official light gun for the XBox One or X/S at an affordable price then the Kinect would be the only way around it.
As far as I'm aware, Sinden Lightguns (https://sindenlightgun.com/) maybe an Indiegogo based business but they still make light guns for modern monitors without the need of infra red sensor bars. Thing is though given they have somewhat of a monopoly on these kinds of guns, they're rather expensive. I'd have to pay £85 if I wanted a standard light gun from Sinden. £135 if I want it with recoil.
Given how common and quality webcams are today, I believe webcams are the only cheap alternatives for light guns to work on modern screens, but it doesn't seem this concept is properly tapped into yet. If third-party developers for PC controllers can mass produce gyroscopic technology for their light gun controllers all they need to do is either include a cheap infra red sensor with the light gun or add on the box "Webcam required for use".
The PlayStation Move (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Move) for example is somewhat of a knock off to the Wii-mote. Like the Wii-mote it uses gyroscopic sensors so the games know how you are holding the remote. But unlike the Wii-mote it doesn't need a sensor bar to play. Instead however it needs the PlayStation Eye or the PlayStation Cam to be used as a sensor.
On eBay, depending on the seller, a PlayStation Move controller price ranges from £25-80 which is somewhat of a hefty price but still more affordable than Sinden's light guns.
I don't know how cheap this gyroscopic motion sensing technology is for todays video game industry but given Nintendo's gone 100% on it with Wii-mote and JoyCons and PlayStation has made it the standard since DualShock 4 controllers I imagine the tech would be cheap and accessible for Microsoft to use to make a light gun that the Kinect can pick up on.
Or if they want to be particularly cheap, maybe the light gun simply uses a tiny LED bulb in the muzzle of the light gun that the game can pick up on and the bulb flashes whenever the trigger is pulled indicating an action. But that would make the light gun rather inaccurate and would require additional programming in light gun games to know how to respond to such things.

Such a product would still be rather expensive though. Probably sell for the price of £40-60GBP which is a hefty price but affordable.

Yes there isn't much of a market for light guns and given modern televisions are no longer CRT makes the older guns obselete while the new guns from Sinden are expensive. But that doesn't mean light guns for modern tellies at affordable prices isn't impossible. Just not much of a market for them.
Not asking Microsoft to make a brand new Kinect. If the XBox One Kinect works just as well on the X/S then all they'll need to do is make a gyroscopic controller in the shape of a gun that can be used along with a kinect or any quality webcam.
If I can't play THotD:Remake with my Saturn Virtua Gun controller, at least give me something other than my mouse.

Of course my kids wanted them but I thought the cardboards would get damaged soon enough and why would I bought something that's not gonna last long.

From what I read on Steam Discusison boards, a mod was made for THotD:Remake for light gun support, then MegaPixel made a patch which broke the mod.
Still as pointed out with Gun4ir being more expensive, there should be a cheaper alternative to light guns and surely I am not the only one who thought of the use of webcams.
All a modern light gun would need would be gyroscopic sensors and either an infra red sensor bar or a webcam.

It says that but the last time I played the remake it felt a bit off here and there. For example you know the monkey threatening the hostage in the foyer? It took many hits to kill it and it still dropped the guy. Just felt a bit off.

I think original gameplay means basically they don't change the genre : it's still "rail shooting" gameplay.
The same can't be said to ... for example .... Final Fantasy VII Remake.

…if you remember the first Mega Man game’s box, it looked like hell.
The reason it was so bad was because we had literally 24 hours to turn it around.
Nintendo said, “We need your artwork by tomorrow.”
Somebody worked all night long to come up with this garbage-looking box, and then we released it because we had no choice.

I like how he was a friend of someone who probably knew the character well, but was still put on the spot to make the cover art in a day. Either Inafune was a jerk not poviding him some demos, screenshots or even a byro sketch, or the artist was like:
