Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu must fight off Zagato's henchman and find the Rune Gods if they ever want to get back home. Would Boom be considered anime? It was produced in France, like Sonic Underground, maybe a Western category should be there to represent Boom, Underground, SatAM and AoStH.

The appreciation for the list is only right, while my absence from the frequentation of the site and consequently the forum (though I'm not one of the most regular posters, on the contrary) it's due to a number of reasons mostly of temporal nature ... ;)

A TV anime adaptation of episode 1-3 out of 6 the total episodes from the Phantasy Star Online 2 game.
But of course there are many anime-original contents.
Shin Sakura Taisen ~ The Animation (Apr 3, 2020 to Jun 19, 2020)
In 1930, two years after the events of So Long, My Love, the Great Demon War results in the annihilation of the Imperial, Paris and New York Combat Revues' Flower Divisions. Core Voice Cast Returning for Shenmue Anime Series

Though he’s listed as an executive producer, Yuu Suzuki describes his position more as a “supervisor on the world-building”.
For example, making sure Ryo doesn’t pick up a knife to fight, or that a particular character would or wouldn’t say a particular thing.
Suzuki will also ensure there is a sense of urgency portrayed throughout the series.

Sakura Wars the Animation to receive an English Dub from Funimation

Sakura Wars the Animation, the animated sequel to Sakura Wars (2019), will be receiving a full English dub of all 12 episodes on Funimation’s website starting tomorrow (Feb 2nd).
The series follows the division as they face a renewed demonic invasion and deal with a tournament, all while working to keep their beloved Imperial Theater open and operating.

Shenmue getting an anime? Nice. I hope Powerhouse be the ones who animate it. I love what they did for Castlevania and Blood of Zeus.

The March 2021 Sega Survey Asks About Anime Too

After basic questions going over who you are and you are eligible to participate, it gets into gaming-related questions.
First, it asks which systems you might have access to. It also asks if you’re familiar with both games Sega and Atlus did and didn’t make.
Then, it goes on to see if people answering consider themselves an anime fan and if they’ve watched certain series like Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, and Sailor Moon.

Probably won't bother with survey, given it looks like it's mostly for Americans. That and I doubt my honest oppinions will change much of anything or ask the questions I'd be interested in.
Still, wouldn't mind more anime based on Sega franchises.

Funimation to Ship Sakura Wars the Animation Blu-Ray on 5/18/2021

On February 18, Funimation announced that they will release Sakura Wars the Animation on Blu-Ray.
The publisher will ship the title on May 18 with a suggested retail price of $64.98 USD.
The set, which includes a digital copy, will feature both the English and Japanese versions of the show.

I remember watching this anime way back and I must say... how the hell does the economy work in this anime? Like, the public domain feature is still giving their money to the service that's providing the rental suits and this game is super popular that whoever hosts the Hero Battles are probably richest company in that worlds japan.

Sega has announced an English version of Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppūtan under the title Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will launch sometime in 2021.
The post also confirms there will be Japanese and English voiceover available, as well as English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles.
While it will feature English subbed and dubbed options, it has not yet been announced if the game will be making its way to Europe or North America.

SEGA’s Sonic Central announced that Sonic Colors Ultimate will be releasing to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Would e nice to have a 2D animated Sonic cartoon agai. I mean I'm not knocking Sonic Prime before I try it, just prefer AoSTH over Sonic Boom because I regard both cartoons aimed at the same age group, but AoSTH could do much more because they were not confined to the limits of 3D models and provided scenaries.

Sonic Underground was ne of those shows that only had a realisation of popularity after it was canned. As in after the first season the producers were like "This is a pointless endeavour, let's just end it here." and then their were fans who were like "HAng on, what happens next? Did they ever reunited with their mother? What about Knuckles?" so kinda ironic when that happened.

Studying, I don't mind. Especially if I asm asked to study on my own time.
But homework... no. No more homework. Did you know the concept of homework was made as a form of punishment? Can you imagine the school day assembly when the headmaster annouce "For now on, homework will be mandatory for all, not just for punishing."? I hate homework so much that as a 32 year old man I still have school-related nightmares of forgetting to do my homework. Some times I wake up from those nightmares and instead of remembering I am a 32 year old man in an entirely new home, my immediate worry is whenever or not I have done my homework or not.
I don't want to go back to school, but if I have to, I just won't bother with homework ever.

The reason why they are "lazy" is because it's "home time". A time where they can just be themselves in the comfort of home and not have to worry about school business.
And while some may say homework helps improove the students education, can't we just accept school has nothing to do with education and it's just a place where children are forced to memorize facts that have little practicality in adult life? That if they fail to remember their "times tables" they're shamed for it.
Heck I was never that good at maths myself... but you know what I am good at? Using a calculator.
Maybe if schools teach us things like mental health, diplomacy and negotiations, domestic care, legal awareness, open-mindedness to various people, standard laws or standard social interactions and responses then I would of cared more about School growing up.
But no, apparently learning the periodic table or the Banana Wars of April 21, 1898 – August 1, 1934 are more valid subjects for our developing brains to memorize for our adult life.
Oh, and apparently there is this "new maths" now that's taught in schools, so regardless if you're bad at maths like me or not, parents will still struggle helping their children with homework on brand new yet just as useless subjects they didn't cover in their time.
The only people who benefit from school are extroverted people, and usually they're only their for social interaction and to see their friends. The day I become a parent, I will try to seek alternative options for my children.

I only had the one friend in school. To me school was just "something I had to do" whenever I liked it or not. I never skived off school because I didn't want to be a bad kid or for anyone to worry of my absence but I never liked school. It was like a seven hour drall.

If you could ask for any Sega cartoon, what would it be and who studio do you want to animate it?
For example, I would like to see a Jet Set Radio cartoon animated by the same people who made Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I like to imagine each of the rudies being given a backstory and why they choose the rudy life... except for Beat who keeps his past before the skates to himself.
I would also like another Phantasy Star Online 2 animated series, but instead of an anime it be made by House of Cool (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Cool). Because while I know PSO2 is an anime-centric online game it be interesting to see it depicted in another style.
And of course, I just want another Sonic cartoon, but I know Sonic Prime is on the way so I won't be greedy.

I mean, I know that seems out of character, but I doubt barbarians had red and white bikini's or bright green tunics in those days, but maybe they could be bestowed by divine powers or something.

He could meet other centurions, each with elemental powered altered beast forms and use their powers to stop an evil faction of centurions and monsters lead by Neff. More like Desctructix. Simply a villainous faction of centurions that show that the power of the altered beast is not exclusive to the heroes.
I sort got the idea from the latest He-man cartoon where not only He-man is capable of sharing the Power of Greyskull with his friends that grant them their own transformations, but Skeletor has the power of "Havoc" which he embues with his henchmen to empower them the same way Greyskull does for Adam's friends.
I figured, if I were to reboot Altered Beast into TV series I could either go the Ben 10 route and have one hero capable of becoming many, or a group of heroes with individual transformations. And who doesn't love a good anime-esque transformation sequence? And given Neff had bad guys that look like half-man, half-beast (such as Van Vader) then why not make them humans who can turn into their video game counterparts as altered beasts?

Better than be compared to Twilight. But I'm thinking gods will still be gods and our heroes won't attend some secret school or camp. Just be given abilities and a task.
Kinda like Captain Planet.
The premise could be set in modern day... well, most action adventure kids shows are set in America but given the romans stretched their empire all over the place other than rome then perhaps any of those countries instead. Maybe Britain or France. Maybe it be about a group of heroes who find an ancient greco-roman temple adorned with animal statues. Then Zeus shows up and gives everyone altered beast forms based on the animal statues. Then the heroes go back to their regular lives but find out there are bad guys out there with altered beast forms of their own and must fight them, though occasionally returning to Zeus temple who acts like a Zordon of the group or something like that.
Alternatively, could take a Gargoyles or Mummies Alive approach and can be about an actual centurion who ends up in modern times. Like Ben 10 he alone possessed the power of transformation and has various altered beasts to become, or he finds a group of modern friends who each unlock an altered beast form because of him. His new friends teach him to be a modern human and in return teaches them to master their altered beast states.

For example I've seen Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and honestly I thought it was a very odd rendition of the TMNT... but I think such energetic animations and colourful scenery would make great for a Jet Set Radio cartoon.

As for me, the one hour and half travel from home to office (and vice versa) with public transport is probably the time when I watched anime (or news, depended on the mood) on smartphone.
I'm more into reading than watching but reading on the bus isn't as comfortable compared than watching something.
Mieruko-chan is surprisingly good, the creepy sounds and the voice acting really helped the atmosphere.
Jojo is still being Jojo and Cells At Work kinda more like fun-to-watch educational anime.
Only Digimon Adventure is the one that I haven't watched.

Oh I know there are plenty of live-action anime movie adaptions. Just Dragonball is the worst.
I liked "Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins" though if that counts as a live-action DragonBall movie though. Haven't seen an english subbed version of "Dragon Ball: Ssawora Son Goku, Igyeora Son Goku" yet.

I liked "Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins" though if that counts as a live-action DragonBall movie though. Haven't seen an english subbed version of "Dragon Ball: Ssawora Son Goku, Igyeora Son Goku" yet.

In truth growing up I was somewhat of a pansy when it comes to scary movies and somewhat still am so I don't really have a "scariest movie". I mean I was 11 when Blaire Witch Project came out and I remember watching it with my mother, and by "watching" it mostly covered my face with Mum's arm or something like that. While there are those who "enjoy" being scared, I question why people enjoy being scared.
But as I grew up I realised I don't find most horror movies as scary but I still don't really bother with them. I mostly like Yami Shibai because of the suspense and storytelling than desire to be scared. I also like Mieruko-chan because I find it rather different than most anime I've seen out there.
When I was a kid growing up I liked anime, I found it a different and exotic form of cartoon but anime was rarely shown on TV. Now that I can watch anime on the internet I find most anime recycle the same tropes that I rarely find anime I enjoy. Common tropes such as harem with protag where every girl desires him but still a whiney lil pansy who dare not grab at the low hanging fruit despite said fruit practically being picked and served for him, anime set in some fantasy land, often with RPG elements for absolutely no reason. Like seriously, why should I care if a sword has +2 damage when your mother is an OP milf, or girl with impossibly high defence or magic stats or whatever RPG mumbo-jumbo when we're watching an anime and not playing a game. Or slice of life anime about japanese school girls doing japanese school girl things, how many japanese school girl anime do we need?
And of course anime set in dystopian future with edgy protagonists. Often dystopian due to deep sci-fi lore reasons that I can't get my head around. Probably to do with demons, aliens or monsters created from human folly.
I know regular western cartoons aren't that diverse but I rarely find anime I'm interested in because I probably seen the tropes done to death or it's just over my head.
But there are a few anime I genuinely like, such as Jojo Bizarre Adventures, OnePunch Man, Zombie Land Saga (Season 1 opening reminds me of THotD for some reason), Demon Slayer (granted, usual tropes but well animated and good story) and there is probably other anime I like that I forgot to mention.
As for "popular anime" like One Piece or Naruto, no, just no.

Actually, I do like zombie movies. I've seen most of the "Living Dead" movies, especially all of Romero's. I don't find zombie movies all that scary though I never really bothered with the Walking Dead series given I find them less about zombies and more about the human drama around them. I do enjoy "zomedies" though but other than Bio Zombie, Shaun of the Dead of Zombieland 1 and 2 there's slim pickings in that regard.
It's why I go on about making my own The House of the Dead fan movie ideas at times, because I can imagine it embracing it's tongue and cheek humour to make a brilliant zomedy mystery movie. Though Planet Terror would also be an inspirational source.

I imagine japanese studios are either scraping the barrel or are just working with what's marketable. For example iseki harems are done to death but don't we all secretly wish we can have a sexy do-over with our own lives now and again? Heck sometimes I wish I can "quit being fat" and go on an iseki barbarian adventure. Slayin and layin'.
Still I could watch one of many iseki anime about someone else's adventure which is fine and dandy if they are genuinely interesting characters and stories, but given these tropes are done to death I sorta lost interest in trying new anime out.
And one can't really blame the "Iseki trope" given it's been done long before it became a trope since 1865 Alice in Wonderland. So many western shows can be regarded as iseki already.

That's fair. Dubs are good for people with reading difficulties but I prefer subbed version given I believe it's second best to actually learning the language. Plus you never know what's censored or cut out in American dubs due to standards.

Yeah plus the quality seems worse in the dub as well. Still there are some people who can read perfewctly fine but struggle to read quickly so dubs are a good alternative for that. And frankly even I find it annoying when the subs are too fast and I have to pause or rewind just to figure out what they're saying, or too distracted reading than watching and miss bits out.

I didn't even know Amiga was a thing growing up. But to be fair I had a rather sheltered childhood. All I know is that the Mega Drive was rather dominant in the gaming market over here.

I'm not sure too since we didn't even got Amiga here in my country.
Most people who's into computer usually had IBM PC XT/AT or the clones (their games are mostly similar to Amiga's though).
It's just I had few UK magazines back then (Mean Machine and CVG) and reading from them it looks like Amiga is really a thing in UK.

May be at first the manga didn't ask for SEGA's blessing, but SEGA took liking on it and decided to work together with them (Mega Drive Mini & Game Gear Micro advertising and appearance as playable characters in Chain Chronicles).

The manga is already good (at least last half of the story, it started generic but turn to amazing a little by little).
As long as they don't change the story in the anime version, I believe it will be good too.

I mean sure, they could only hold a few documents. Maybe word or image files. But still these things had protective casings so you didn't need to handle with care or worry too much if they get dirty. now days modern computers don't even have Floppy Disk drives because they're that obsolette.
Don't get me wrong, USB Flash Drives are brilliant, just not as stylish as Floppy Disks.
And these days, you can fit a whole Nintendo Switch game on cartridges the size of microships. t makes me wonder what it would be like if someone reinvents the Floppy Disk.

In the trailer, Takafumi asks Uncle what his friends in the other world were like, and Uncle remarks on the verbal abuse he received from one of his companions (shown to be a female elf).
Takafumi realizes that the elf was just being tsundere.
Unfortunately for Uncle, tsundere was a character concept that only really hit the pop culture mainstream around 2004, long after he had had departed to the other world.

Yeah, episode finale was so good.
I kinda like how they put the opening song near the end of the anime.
I always love that energetic opening song and putting it near the end's kinda fit since it's after Ryo change his view on his journey after that last battle, not to seek revenge, but to find the truth.

I like the use of colours to represent how he's feeling. Such as red glow in eye eyes for vengeance and how it turns tog green or blue.

I honestly have my doubts. I mean Shenmue III came out not long a go. Why would Yu want people to watch the anime when they should go play the game for themselves?
But if Shenmue III has no Sega capsules I have my doubts.

They could drag Shenmue 3 into 13 episodes, added with filler story like Dragon Ball or Naruto, but I doubt they will do that.
Waiting for 4 came out before making new one is the most sensible one.
