As of January 1 2024, Steam will officially stop supporting the Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems.

After that date, the Steam Client will no longer run on those versions of Windows.
In order to continue running Steam and any games or other products purchased through Steam, users will need to update to a more recent version of Windows.
This change is required as core features in Steam rely on an embedded version of Google Chrome, which no longer functions on older versions of Windows.
In addition, future versions of Steam will require Windows feature and security updates only present in Windows 10 and above.

You Can Now Enjoy Nights Into Dreams At 60FPS On PC

The original Nights was released for the Sega Saturn back in 1996 and notably used a combination of frame rates to display its graphics, with the 2D background scrolling at 60FPS, while the foreground action was rendered at 30FPS.
Since then, however, many of the subsequent ports have foregone this, instead simply capping the frame rate at a standard 30FPS for both.
This new mod aims to correct this and specifically targets the 2012 PC version, which is the one currently available on Steam.

All three projects appear to be running on PC. In fact, only one fan game in the trailer is confirmed to be running on Saturn hardware: Slide Hop.
The trailer kicked off with “Nights Moonlight Dreams” by Marco Medina. It appears to recreate the original Nights gameplay but in a more 2D sidescrolling form using a polygonal Nights character with 2D sprite objects and backgrounds.

Like a great many other online games, SEGA SPLASH! GOLF came with several layers of security to prevent hackers and cheaters – these naturally had to be overcome by Ninji in order to play the game in 2023. There was also the small matter of getting it to work on a non-Japanese computer, as it was never released worldwide.
However, as insurmountable as these issues might appear to the layperson, Ninji has successfully managed to get the game's practice mode working, recover its in-game shop (it had microtransactions, of course), and get the character customisation mode up and running. You can ...
