Sonic Colors: Ultimate Review – Reach for the Stars in HD (PlayStation 4)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL5AlXKHjII

Quote
Ultimate is a remaster done right.
The original game is intact and is given a graphical and gameplay lift through a much needed visual boost and unobtrusive additions.
The frustrations of the original game remain.
You will still curse whenever you miss a platform thanks to Sonic’s slippery controls and inadvertent boosting, but to fix this would be to fundamentally change the game and I can’t fault Ultimate for that.

The fact SC:U needed a patch on day one is not a good sign... Especially given some have reported the game lagging or shutting down impromtly before it.

It's being developed with Godot, a free and open source engine, not with hedgehog engine.
Even the lead dev was really surprised since the engine was not meant for big companies to use unless it was modified a lot.
May be that's why.

The glitches mostly was found (famously by TWIP) on PS4 version, right?
Heard no issues on Switch version (that only run on 30 fps), the version that I would get because of its portability feature.
All reviews for Switch seem good and they never mention any bug.

I don't have any modern consoles so my best bet would be Steam. But even still I am rather indecisive to get the game. Other than dressing up Sonic like mardi gra I don't really want to go through the anguish that was the original Sonic Colours again. Having to pass six acts per planet, most of those acts being worse stage designs than Sonic Forces. Uuuugh.

Ken Penders Interview: Sonic Comic Writer To Finish What He Started

Quote
"I’m hoping my story inspires the next generation to do their own thing as opposed to playing in someone else’s sandbox.
I never saw Sonic as playing in someone else’s sandbox because Sonic didn’t exist when I began working in comics.
I didn’t grow up with the character the way today’s kids did."

Sonic the Hedgehog Comic Proves Tails' Haters Have Always Been Wrong

Quote
It's reat to see IDW give Tails his time to shine, even if this story isn't as ambitious as the fate Archie Comics awarded the young freedom fighter.
While fans of Sonic the Hedgehog's comic lineage have long known that Tails is no joke, Sonic the Hedgehog #43 offers concrete evidence that without him, there are challenges that even the Blue Blur wouldn't be able to overcome.
