My gf likes watching me play Braid, Seaman, Viva Pinata and The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom. SHe also gets a kick out of any avatar game, because I think she thinks my 360 avatar is better looking than I am (he has better clothing, at least).

My girlfriend hates games.

HA! Similar experience with me.

We moved in together 3.5 years ago and I had a PS2 and Dreamcast hooked up, plus an XBOX in storage. PS2 was the DVD player so really only the Dreamcast stood out as a gaming device.

Then 1 year later the XBOX came out to join the other two.

Then another year later my parents drove out to visit and brought me my second Dreamcast, my Genesis, my Nomad, my Sega CD, my 32X, my Saturn, my Game Gear and about 60 games! LOL oh man....

Then 7 months ago I bought a 360 after winning $350 at a cruise ship casino. She didn't like the idea, but once I showed her the wonders of NetFlix via the 360, she literally said "thank you" to me!

Now the game systems are at a good level, and most are in the back room in a discreet TV cabinet. If I bought a PS3 or Wii, I think I'd be single. lol

...I don't know any other girls that play video games... well accept for Guitar Hero :/ and stuff.... most of them think im weird when I say things like "I played  Resident Evil 5 all night" ... their like :S ... why? that's weird.

:p as for comics, im a big fan of those too... Ive just cut my titles in half though :( ...was getting a little to expensive.

:/ ...looks like ill be buying graphic novels instead.

..most of the girls I know who read comics read Spider-man and X-men...

Yeah I never bought comics by the issue (apart from when I was really young and buying Sonic Comics!  :P ) , I always either get the collected paperbacks or graphic novels. I personally prefer it that way, much easier to store and probably cheaper in the long run.

Also I have no patience to wait a month between each chapter, which is why I prefer reading comics that are finished or close to the end of their run.

As for the Mortal Kombat shenanigans, you should have made him play Virtua Fighter instead! :afroman:

to play videogames is not a men exclusive =/ i play from...well, a lot of years because i'm old lol, and i like almost any kind of games from samba de amigo to gears of war. Also some of my female friends likes videogames even if they doesen't play as much as me. It's not true there aren't female gamers, if you just look around you can see it :afroman:

As you and Snowcats prove the girl gamers are obviously out there, but I keep hearing statistics (probably from Nintendo) that state stuff like '40% of all gamers are girls!', which leads me to think they have a pretty broad definition of the term 'gamer'.

Hmm, :p I think he would have cried had I beaten him at VF aswell.

...As for this 40% malarkey, I agree that it must be very wide, I wouldn't consider someone who has only played the Wii and DS a gamer... I wouldn't consider someone who only plays Guitar Hero a gamer.

I remember a time when the game shops near me had no female staff, and when a girl walked in they were all over her "do you need any help?" like she was some kind of retard :/ ... now a few of the shops have more female staff then male staff...  Now, I have no problem with female staff, but I went in to pre order Mortal Kombat vs DC (yeah, who knows why :/) and the girl actually said... "Is that the one with Ryu and Blanka in?" ...... I just walked away, its her job to know what these games are.

Yeah sometimes the employees at those game stores are hopeless, although I've never personally had any that didn't know their stuff. The worst I've had was the manager at my local EBgames saying that he heard Bayonetta only got "mixed reviews" and I was all like "OMGWTFBBQ it's like da best you wobbegog! 10/10 from Hyper magazine!"

And I've seen a couple of girls serving before as well, one of them was wearing a rooster hat from the Scribblenauts game. I was going to make a joke, but all I could think of were ones relating to 'Cocks'...

I do not get how some dudes that are paid to know about games and make people want to buy them don't know as much as I do. And all it takes is like 30 daily minutes looking up at some gaming site..

I think I've never seen a girl working at a videogame store.. Then again, I don't go to videogame stores a whole lot.

Get your lady friends to try out Bayonetta. Once they get over the "Pervy" stuff they will absolutely fall in love with the game. Seriously, try it! It works 1 out of 1 times for me!

Because it's an unskilled customer service job perhaps?

I've a couple of women working in the GAME near me, I don't ask them about games though so I have no idea if they're knowledgable or not.

GAME dude are usually really nice people. This one time I was at the mall during Sony's E3 conference, so I entered the store and asked how was it going. They politely informed me and traded thoughts on how some awesome games were coming out at the time..

Whenever I have some dudes coming over they always want to play Bayonetta. At first it's awesome fun! ...then it starts getting awkward.

I'm just going to use this thread to say that I missed you guys. I've been rather absent these days because of being too busy dealing with failing relationships.

How come a girl puts you in the "friend zone" in a middle of a romantic relationship without either of us screwing up anything?
What the fuck. Seriously, I don't get it. She's indeed my best friend, but there was quite a bit more than that going on.

It's just frustrating you know..

Women are odd creatures. If another girl finds you 'attractive', she will fall all over you like you are the cure for cancer.
