These ones. That are nerdy enough I'd get praised for wearing it at some convention but jusssst cool enough that I won't get the pulp beat out of me on the streets. Are they coming? I never got mine. I was looking quite forward to it.
-
Hey, they are all printed and ready to ship. I will be shipping them monday or Tuesday. there was a ton of issues, first time doing this. If it was up to me they would have been shipped a long time ago.
The issue with Monday is that I have class and then work after, but Tuesday I have almost the whole day off. I will be adding a few extra things in the package for the wait.

Sweet!!! Thanks for the update, George!
-
I take a 3X. XD (Or fit snugly in a 2X but 3X is far more roomy.)
-
Thanks for the topic Mengels7, I was just thinking to contact directly George to know something.
Thanks also to George for the clarification :) , in any case would have considered the whole as a contribution to the website, even if can't have the T-shirt agreed would bother me a little ;)
-
Yeah, I don't know if George noted it, but he was making these himself using his 1337 screen printing skills. I made the designs. He wasn't able to begin making them until the ordering period ended and then he had to order the amount of supplies needed - thus the time it took.
Hopefully we'll do more of these in the future! I have some other SEGA related designs that I think would look sweet on a shirt. And of course, I'm open to suggestions for IPs to cover.
I'd love to make a Shenmue or PSO inspired shirt. I have a few Sonic ones in mind, which we could perhaps collab with Sonic Retro on.
-
Valkyria Chronicles, Streets of Rage and Bayonetta ones would be nice. XD
-
So uh...George...I hate to be that guy but it's almost 2 months since you said they were ready to ship.

I fully endorse...
-
I'll bug George about it. I asked for one and it was shipped out but never arrived.
-
Just a point of note that I never received mine either. I was looking through old e-mails and found a paypal to an Esaul Perez with a note that it was for the t-shirt. Kinda ridiculous it's taken this long.
-
I agree, this was more of a beta and its going crap. Some of them did get sent and others get returned due to some stupid issue with weight. I'll be shipping those out asap. If anyone wants a refund PM me and I'll sort you out.
Expect a tracking number during the week.
-
Not to hassle you unduly, but if you're sending things out this week, could you include my prize? Thanks.

I think of you every time I remember this thread I made hahaha
-
So is this still happening? Week is over and I've heard nothing.
-
Any progress? I'd rather have the shirt than a refund.
-
I talked to George after last week's podcast and he said he would be shipping them out. I don't want to speak for him, but I think it is a matter of his school schedule being hectic and him making it to the post office. I will continue to remind him every chance I can, I'm really very sorry for the delay. If I could drive out to California and ship them for him I would. I want to see my designs in person, and the wait has been just as difficult for me as it has been for all of you.

Nobody's holding it against you Barry, no worries. I mostly donated hoping I was helping SegaBits stay afloat. Great site. But I was promised that sweet looking t-shirt y'know?
Still holding out hope that I snag one someday soon :)

Yeah, I'm gonna call it a lost cause. I truly hope at least SegaBits got the money but obviously, if another promotion comes up like this, you'll forgive my hesitance in donating again.

I completely understand and agree with you. I can assure you that the money did go towards the site and its content, as we pay to retain the domain name, as well as put money into improving our audio/video content, as well as storing all the stuff we've worked on and archive it in case of a potential site-wide crash. However, the shirts were the promised reward and I will try my hardest to make sure everybody gets the reward they were promised.
Two podcasts ago I mentioned shipping the shirts to George, and he has told me he will send them out, but then he didn't. It wasn't until the next podcast that I had the chance to talk to him, and he apologized and said he would ship them out. Honestly, I think it might be a case of him being busy and forgetting, or it ended up being that the shipping cost was higher than he expected. I thought the $13-$16 price per shirt was incredibly low, given he was making them himself by screen printing, and buying both the shirts and the inks, plus he was shipping them himself AND was open to international orders.
Despite all of this, it's no excuse for the wait following the shirt's completion. I will bring it up again to him tonight and seriously push him to send the shirts out. Again, I completely understand any hesitations you may have in the future. All I can do is try my hardest to remind and pressure George.

He's in the UK, correct?
-

George lives in California
-
Okay this is getting ridiculous. Have they shipped or not? George isn't so busy that he can't post here and let us know. I see him write on the site enough. If it was "donate to the site to keep it going" that's one thing, but I ordered a T-Shirt and would like it. Or a refund. I don't like being jerked around like this.
Send Centrale his Yakuza stuff while you're at it?
Thanks,
Mark
-
I agree. I've reminded him each time I've talked with him, which was during the past three podcasts.
The first time it was the situation with improper postage, the second time he was busy with school and forgot. I told him to send them that week and he said he would. The third and latest time I spoke with him, the week before Thanksgiving, he apologized and said he would do it on the Monday before Thanksgiving. But it looks like he forgot. Again. At this point it's sounding like chronic laziness...
Also, I did mention the Yakuza stuff, and George said he would send it out with the shirts. Honestly guys, I'm really frustrated over the whole thing. A month back, I thought he had simply given up on the site affer a three weeks of no posting or replying to messages from me. But that ended up him being busy at school and the initial shipping snafu. But now... I honestly don't know why it's been so difficult. He has the energy to do podcasts and write articles, but hasn't posted to the forums in a long while or sent out the shirts. I won't make any more excuses for him. He needs to send these damn things out.
Once this shirt situation ends, from here on out I'll be the one handling contest mailings and any other things that we wish to produce and sell. Because honestly I want to do more of these things, but I do not want George handling mailing as it has been made clear he is very bad at.
George, if you're reading this, I love ya bro but this is getting really annoying and ridiculous.
-
Well, if something like this needs to be done again and we have your assurance that you'll be handling things, Barry, then I'll have no problem kicking in some cash again. I may not post in these forums all that much but believe I'm a loyal fan and always visit here when I need a Sega fix.

Thanks dude, that means a lot to me and the site. Next year we have a few things planned with another DVD from AJ's web series, as well as a few ideas I'm cooking up for our convention appearance in June. I was thinking a "SEGAbits Fun Pack" featuring a DVD, CD, VMU business card, random Genesis game from my local used game store, and potentially a piece of E3 2014 swag.
I'd also like to do another shirt, but I don't want to discuss that until we get this sorted.

Wow...I just saw your Signature and counted how long it's been. @_@
21 months...wow.

Yeah, even a "Fuck all of you, you're not getting your shirts and prize, move on" would be better than the silence.
-
I've sent George another PM. The last time we communicated was the podcast before Christmas. I suggest you send him PMs via the forums if you haven't already. It is likely that his finals are going on now, but I'll continue to contact him.
-
Nothing new, I presume?
-
Unfortunately no... George has been MIA since the week before Thanksgiving. Despite reaching out to him on every form of contact at my disposal, he has not been in touch with me or any other SEGAbits member (reader, writer, or otherwise). He's been silent on Twitter and Instagram, and the last time he has accessed SEGAbits was on December 14.
This isn't the first time he's done this, we went MIA for a month and a half during the summer.
I'll continue to contact him and I've already made the decision to not participate in any podcasts or SEGA Cinema episodes with him until this is sorted out.
-
I received a PM from George about sending out my shirt so I presume it'll all get sorted out. Like I told him, the main thing for me was supporting SegaBits so if in the end that's all that happened I'd be ok with it.
-
Good to hear, I hope it all gets sorted and we can look forward to future projects. I have some shirt designs in the works, and I plan on using a shirt design site that will move the work of printing and shipping out of our hands.

What exactly did he have to say? I see he's alive and active on the site again so I'm hoping to get a response from him.
-
He asked my address and I gave him that and the shirt size I requested and he said he'd sort it out. I'll let you know if it ever arrives.
-
And did you get it yet? It doesn't take that long to ship a shirt anywhere in the US. He's very active again on the site and didn't respond to my PM.

I sent him a PM about something unrelated to the shirts and he hasn't responded yet. According to the forums (I know hes been on the front page, obviously) but according to the forums he hasn't been on since Dec 30th
http://segabits.com/forums/index.php?action=teampage
you can keep an eye on that page to see when someone has been on :) you can also look at their profile directly.
-
Do you guys reeeeally have no other way of communicating with him other than via PM on the forums? This is just insulting at this point.

I'm sorry. I wish there was more we could say but there isn't. We are just as frustrated as you are. Even though it's all George's problem, it reflects badly on SEGAbits as a whole. Barry has tried getting in contact with him by PM, Email, Twitter, you name it. He still hasn't responded to the PM I sent him either. We honestly have no clue what is going on with George. He used to be the #1 contributer to SEGAbits and now he is pretty much gone it seems like.
-
For what it's worth, George has gotten back to me via forum PM and provided me with a USPS tracking number.
-
When did he contact you?

Last night a few hours before I made that post I believe.

He has since been in touch with me. I wasn't able to converse (he was offline) but I did read what he wrote me and replied.
Hopefully this shirt saga is behind us. :)
-
I got a USPS tracking number as well on Feb 5. I've been busy with other things so it slipped my mind.

Has he actually sent yours yet? Mine is still in the pre-shipping phase where he paid for shipping online. Anxious to get my shirt!
-
It's been on 'shipping info received' for 5 days now. USPS has a pretty horrid tracking system in the first place so who knows what the deal is.
EDIT: 3 days later and still a no show. Perhaps those darn Love Shockers stole it?

Agreed but the system is good enough to let you know when it has arrived at the facility. I could be wrong but judging by the trend of this whole debacle and what the USPS site says, I don't think he's sent them yet.

You do realize that a good portion of the country has been getting pounded by major snow storms the last couple of days, right? Quit jumping to conclusions and give the mail some more time.

Yeah, California's really getting pounded hard by snowstorms. Here's a package I ordered that shipped from California on the 12th. Granted this was with priority mail, so it arrived here much sooner than a first-class package would, but the point is that the weather did not have any influence. Also there was a tracking update when the package arrived at the facility.

USPS tracking isn't great, but it is accurate as far as updating when the package arrives at the facility I've found. I'm just astounded I'm still having this conversation.
-

Me too. I'm just gonna give up on this. It shows, yay, it's doesn't, whatevs.
-
Ugh, just when I thought the t-shirt saga was over...
I'm very sorry that this has been an ongoing thing. I've reached out to George, once again, on all possible channels (forum PM, gmail, chat, skype) and hope it acts as a kick in the butt to get him moving on this again.
On my end, the most he has told me was that he was sending them out and he had asked for my address as well for shipping purposes. If I had to guess, he made it far enough to make labels, but never made it to the post office yet. While the east coast is being hammered by snow (where I live), George is on the west coast so at the very least they should have been changed to the "shipping" status. I really don't know why it's been so difficult...
I want to let people know that for all future contests, I'll be handling shipping so something like this never, ever happens again. In fact, I've been handling the contest side of things since October 2013 and have sent every item that we've promised. The upcoming iPhone contest, as well as plans I have with AJ for later this year, will not go through George at all. I know that doesn't help the t-shirt situation, but I just want to put people at ease for any and all future happenings which involves SEGAbits sending anything to readers and contest winners.

He may be in Cali, but you're in New York... At any rate, check the tracking info again. Says it was delivered to your address yesterday.
-
I think Mengels posted a USPS number that was for something not related to this, just using it as an example of something shipped to him that was coming from CA.
-

Well, who knows. Could be George, could be the post office. I've had a number of orders where the tracking info didn't populate until the day the package was out for delivery.
-
At this point, I think it's George. But like I said, I've reached out to him on every form of contact with him I have so we'll see what he says/does.
-
I don't blame you, Barry. I will always support the site. I'm not gonna throw the baby out with the bathwater, as it were. I'm just not going to waste time & energy worrying about a t-shirt that I've probably wasted too much on already. I'll go waste that time & energy on some Burning Rangers instead. :)
-
I think Mengels posted a USPS number that was for something not related to this, just using it as an example of something shipped to him that was coming from CA.
^^^this.
And again, I hate dragging this on, but it would be one thing if he came out and said "sorry I wasted your money and can't afford to send the shirts out" or something like that, but instead he keeps insisting they're being sent out. I even have a tracking number this time. And he's active in posting to SegaBits. I don't hold this against Barry or anyone else except George.
-
I'm glad you guys aren't holding anything against me, and I didn't think you would, but being a major contributor to the site, and a recent admin, I can't help but feel both guilty and at the same time helpless in this situation.
It's the lack of communication and snails pace that is killing me. Every time I see an article go up from George, that's time that could be spent communicating with us and mailing these things out. Anyway, like I've said, I've told him to send the shirts out via all forms of communication at my disposal. He was on the last podcast, after having promised to ship these out, but seeing as how it is now 11 days later and no update from him or USPS, I'm reinstating my "no collaborations with George until this is put to an end" promise.
-
Can I ask a silly question? Is it just Mengels and I that are owed shirts? Surely there must have been more than just us that kicked in money. If that's so, either everyone else got shirts or everyone just doesn't care/remember.
-
I do not recall the total number, but I had thought it was around a dozen or so.
-

Just because you two are the only ones posting in the topic doesn't mean there isn't other people who are looking at this topic, waiting for their shirts. There is a lot of people like that on the internet, don't feel the need to post since someone else has already brought up the issue.
I mean this topic has been read over 1000 times. There is no way all those views are just us.
-
I had also made a couple of posts in the topic time ago, but then I almost lost all hope of getting my shirt and so, as I have previously wrote, in the worst case I consider the money spent, a donation to SEGAbits... :-\
-
George didn't leave an update here, but I figured I'd share what he IM'd me last night.
He told me he created the labels and planned to print them at home, but ran out of ink, so he is making new labels today and will email the tracking numbers out and drop the shirts in the mail by Wednesday.
Hopefully all this happens and shirtgate comes to an end.
-
Shirtgate? I thought we were calling it T-shirt Dragoon Saga. :)
-
Don't call it Saga or the Candy Crush people will get you.
-
Don't call it Saga or the Candy Crush people will get you.
Nor Candy. Candy T-Shirt George Saga would get the pants sued off us.
-
Got the shirt. Thanks George.
-
Looks like mine should arrive today too (I'm not in the same boat as you guys, but it's good to hear that they're arriving)
-
I should make mention other items were included. A Let's Tap soundtrack and a Sands of Destruction case tho honestly, even though the gesture is appreciated, I'm not familiar with either title.
-
Received everything today. Thanks George!
-

Let's Tap was one of Yuji Naka's final collaborations with SEGA, it's a rhythm game that has players tap surfaces which is then registered by the Wiimote. The soundtrack is probably my favorite aspect of the game so thats a pretty cool addition. Sands of Destruction is a 2008 DS RPG published by SEGA, I don't know much about it but then again 2008 was a year in which I wasn't active in modern gaming.
Very glad that people are receiving the shirts! I know it took longer than it should have, but I'm glad the saga is behind us.
And I hope you guys will be open to supporting us in the future. Like I've noted, future things such as this will not be going through George.
In fact, I wasn't going to make this public until these shirts were sent out, and now that they are I wanted to mention that I've set up a RedBubble shop featuring SEGAbits designs:
http://www.redbubble.com/people/segabits/shop
I've made the designs featured on the shirts George made available to the store, though there is no front/back design and the cost is roughly double that of the shirts we made.
-
Actually I just noticed mine has splotches of ink all over the back. Joy. I'll be attacking that with Tide later. I LOVE the VMU shirts on redbubble! Might have to pick one of those up sooner or later.
-
I LOVE the VMU shirts on redbubble! Might have to pick one of those up sooner or later.
Thanks! I spent quite a while making those. If you have a certain VMU image that you want, let me know! I developed a grid in illustrator that allows me to mimic the VMU pixel dimensions, so really I can make just about any image you want.
Also, I just wanted to note that I did not want to announce any of the redbubble stuff until this shirt situation was cleared up, I thought that was fair.
