It's time we discussed the very best part of Square-Enix....

Taito, the creators of such classics as Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Liquid Kids, The New Zealand Story, Kiki KaiKai, Pocky & Rocky, Space Invaders '95, The Fairyland Story, Super Qix, Puzzle Bobble, The Legend of Kage, Thunder Fox, Rastan, Elevator Action II, and a ton of other classics.

THIS JUST IN: Taito has updated their US website, announcing the arrival of several titles to Western shores, including an English version of HOPPING ROAD! ^___^

You can check out that game and others on their website:

Heck yeah, it's my favorite puzzle game of all time, hands-down! =D Though it is odd that they decided to rename Puzzle Bobble to "Bust-A-Move" for North American regions.

Puzzle Bobble 2X is the best. What great graphics, and excellent music too. ^__^

Taito has not made one good game for over ten years.

What ever happened to their awesome arcade games?

Their awesome arcade games are still around. They never go away, don't worry. ^_^ Some of their classics have gotten excellent updates on downloadable services such as XBLA and WiiWare, too. I love Bubble Bobble Plus/Neo, Rainbow Islands Towering Adventure, and I've been considering getting Qix++.

As for the current arcade scene, they're still making new games for 'em, but their machines are mostly in Japan only.

Here's a game that I hope I can try sometime:

And the main page. ^__^

No, I mean even their new arcade games suck ass. Their "HD revivals" are literally the lowest quality releases on the platforms I have even seen, and this includes their WiiWare stuff. Bust-A-Move Pocket on Neo Geo Pocket was literally way better and had more features/options/songs than Super Bust-A-Move on PlayStation 2, this is just not acceptable. Even their retro arcade collections on Xbox and PlayStation 2 are buggy and unplayable.

If I were to review the company across the last ten years I would give them a 1/10.

You just do not know what good games are! Stop playing Virtua Fighter, the combo trees and slow gameplay are ruining your perception of what makes games amazing! You have not lived till you have played Pocky and Rocky with Becky for Nintendo Game Boy Advance!

Can anyone else get 2M points by level 8 of Puzzle Bobble and then waste all of their lives with sloppy gameplay?

Whoops, you're mistaking your thoughts on Taito with what people think about SEGA. =P
