Oh! Will it be off-topic if I show and tell the fan project I'm working on? Or perhaps better not given I dunno if I will ever finish this in time as I hope. Like, if I never gonna finish it, what's the point in bringing it up etc.

Isn't it the opposite?
If it's still had a chance to finish it someday, then don't spoil it until you're ready, someone could stole your idea.
Unless you're looking for collaboration.

I wouldn't mind collaboration, or any help at all. C# is my weakness with this project. I don't have twitter or dunno how to ask for help with it.
Though I'm worried since all I can do is be the idea guy and make rough models to put together, I'm concerned if I did get a team going I'd be regarded as the weak link. I've got this notion that the world wants do-ers, not thinkers. And I'm a thinker.

I think I figured out how to report so I did just that.

So anyways yes. I'm working on a Puyo Puyo fan game in Unity. A fan game that operates rather differently from the traditional one. I would like to finish it by October (30th Anniversary) but I doubt I'll have it finished by then.

Cool, that's good to hear.Who's the main character on your fangame?
Btw.. My suggest is take your time.
Better to be delayed than rushed but unfinished.

At the moment I'm simply trying to get the gameplay to work in a beta state. Y'know, simply stacking puyo.

I don't really have a full fledge story in mind because honestly I would settle fo just a single Challenge Mode and leave it at that. A Versus Mode would also be nice. Do go as far as alternative or additional gamemodes like Fever or Sun modes.

A very-very rough story in mind is Sig as the protagonist due to his hetrochromia allowing him to stack puyo in a 3x3x8 cuboid playing area. However Arle, Amitite and Ringo are usually the reoccuring three so I might just stick to them or something. While the popping system of puyo is still the same (except puyo of the same colour forward and behind also count as a connect) the method of dropping puyo into the play area is entirely different. As in literally pick up the puyo and drop them in, like balled-up socks into the sock drawer.

To hardcore puyo fans this may seem like a radical change of playstyle different from traditional, but the point of it all is a proof of concept for a new puyo puyo gameplay fit for VR.

There's nothing wrong with changing gameplay.
Sometimes it's good.
Sonic Battle (GBA) has different gameplay compared to traditional Sonic games, but it's still my favorite Sonic game on handheld.

I hope I'll get it to work sometime soon, but currently taking a long-long break over it.
